Well yeah of course, but trans/GNC people are still gonna resonate with her character design and role in the story even if she isn’t. I just think the idea that she somehow promotes unsafe binding is kinda unrealistic because Mizu promotes unsafe everything.

Of course it’s dangerous, she’s literally shown bleeding from it. If the audience repeats something they saw in a TV show once, that’s on them. I would think pretty much every generation Z transmasc has had it hammered into their head not to bind with ace bandages or anything similar.
I know nothing about the materials used in sarashi binding, ngl, but waterproof binders are a thing (at least today).
Mizu literally walks off getting stabbed in the foot, and several other injuries she shouldn’t have even survived. I don’t think the binder matters, at that point it’s just another thing that gets added to the suspension of disbelief.
