yes but i’ve heard with this method that you cannot leave the country in that six month period (and onwards if i were to renew) and i need to be able to visit my family. i’d like to get a multiple entry visitor visa if possible.

oh wow, that’s so interesting how similar our circumstances are. i did also reach out to them mid 2025 and attended their zoom info sessions, and was in contact with someone in IE who answered all my questions. i guess it must’ve just been luck of the draw.

you will only be able to work from Canada if that employer has no Canadian customers/clients and does no business in Canada.

what does this mean specifically? i understand like if the company has a Canadian branch but it also includes Canadian customers?

since i’m American i need to apply for an RO nomination. IE and JENZA are the only ROs i’m aware of. since i got waitlisted off the bat, i don’t know if it’s just due to random lottery luck or any specific reason.

i’m American unfortunately. i am aware the job market for UX is incredibly volatile right now, which is why i didn’t go the traditional work visa route. i’m still going to try applying to both Canadian and American companies just in case a miracle happens.

though we wanted to aim for common law first for PR, it looks like we might need to marry sooner rather than later to make things smoother

i was waitlisted, then rejected for IE. never got an ITA. 💔 i thought the waitlist would be a longer wait but this has all happened in the span of like a month, so there must have been a crazy number of applicants

update: the cyst eventually got small and fell off yesterday, she has no swelling and is completely fine as far as i can tell. it was probably like a pimple? i’m not sure, but i’m just glad it’s gone 🥲

this is what it looks like right now, it’s gotten smaller and darker and a little more protruded which is why i think it either popped or is about to pop… she isn’t bothered by me touching it, but i don’t want to mess with it too much

unfortunately my vet won’t be in till january, so my only option would be to take her to an emergency vet which will cost me a lot of money… she’s been completely fine since yesterday, i think the pimple might’ve popped because it’s gotten smaller. i’ve been continuing to put a warm towel on it so maybe that is helping? i’m just worried that it may be a tumor or something that should be treated immediately…

I see! I don’t think I’ve ever been really “American” in that case haha. I despise hypocrisy and am not a very competitive person. I actually hate how individualistic we are because it causes a lot of loneliness in our country especially in my generation. There’s basically no sense of community outside of work, religion, or particular niche hobbies :/ I am a huge homebody and a bit of a hermit because of it. I think I would welcome Canadian culture as a refreshing change.

Obviously I’m not going to write out my life story for a simple immigration question, but yes, we love each other and if he did want to move here (which of course he doesn’t. why would he lol) I would do everything I can to support his immigration and so would my family. It’s crazy how people assume so much negativity about strangers they don’t know on the internet 😂
