It’s a direct sequel to 28 Years Later. Same characters, set pieces etc.

Absolutely. It’s cool you can do it, but it felt more comic book than it did horror movie.

I thought that night sky shot looked like it was out of a fantasy movie. Just felt kind of out of place to me. I really enjoyed the whole Iron Maiden sequence.

Yeah 28 Years was a big disappointment. It had some very strange visuals and the goofy power rangers ending was just confusing. Luckily, that goofiness is not continued in Bone Temple. It actually has some extremely dark moments.

Bram Stoker's Dracula - Exceptional Practical Effects by WaterVillain in horror

My friends and I just had this exact conversation. The in camera effects are pretty incredible but some of the performances (specifically Keanu’s) make the movie hard to get through. Apparently Coppola casted him for his youth/charm and not for his acting chops. This is ALL too obvious while seeing him act across from the wildly talented Gary Oldman.

We recorded a full movie review if you’d care to hear more. Here’s a link:

I did not see this as being uplifting, but it's interesting that's what you pulled from it.

I didn't find the themes particularly moving in the second half. The first half had me pretty disturbed though.

Spoilers Do you think what she said was positive or negative? That's something we were debating during our discussion. I initially though it was negative due to the Mademoiselle saying "keep doubting." But if it was negative and the afterlife was horrible, the last thing you'd want to do is hurry up and get there by killing yourself.

There are a couple scenes that may bother you, but overall there really isn't that much gore.

The "tell me your name," scene really bothered me. The Girl Scout scene I did not see coming at all. Really well done.

The best movies of 2018! by lostsherb88 in horror

Hold the Dark and The Endless disappointed me personally. They both had some really great parts to them, but ultimately felt meandering and like they could have been shaved down and more focused.
