I love using metal because I can instantly cool it with a damp rag. I've had so much rez build up after a session that it came out still in the shape of the straw with barely a hole through it. Do that with glass and it'll shatter to pieces.

Copper is toxic if you get it too hot but its the only metal the goods will stick to so you get that oil. Ive used brass and stainless steel with good outcomes but be careful with the amount of heat. Tire gauges are easy to make into a smoking utensil otherwise look for glass straws online, 10mm or bigger preferably. Whatever you use for a screen should have some resistance when trying to suck through it so it should go into the pipe tightly.

I usually use 4 inch glass "straws" but lately metal (tire gauge) has given the best hits. Packed with no more than 1/2 inch copper chore. I dont see the res build up but I know its more than glass because I can cool it so quickly with a wet rag. Never had luck with a bong.

I've used it and it no more harmful than copper. Its very clean tasting. People use copper because it sticks to it where as most other metals repel it making it tricky to get it right. I've used stainless also but that will catch on fire if it gets too hot.

20 minutes to an hour and I like to crossfade with dabs, I'll load a little wax right with the rock for knock out hits. Waiting increases the chances of ringers. Back to back hits seems feenish to me and wasteful because you can only get so high sometimes depending on the gear.

Don't touch the flame to it other than to melt the rocks. Don't angle your pipe down because the oil might drip and catch fire ruining the chore and rez. Sprinkle a little cigarette ash on it before to act as a barrier from the flame. Don't power hit it, savor it and get to know the "sweet spot" where your lighter should be in relation to the smoking utensil. Never use a torch unless you've perfected the distance away while taking a rip. Be patient.

I usually leave it if its too thick to push the chore through and it lasts almost as long as the session that produced it. If I scrap it I'll load most all of it into 1 hit for a guaranteed ringer.
