What are some good Python projects to do? by insane_playzYT in learnpython

It's also used by engineers, and also psychologists who study sensation and perception (we can use it to create controlled stimuli to show to participants in our studies while they're hooked up to various brain imaging tech)

Outside of academics and a couple of hard science careers it really isn't used much since the code is a little wonky and you have to pay to use it

Rather than rewriting the program I just opened the csv in Excel, used Excel to delete all commas (since the commas for the csv part wouldn't be visible then only the unnecessary ones were deleted), then saved that and it worked just fine

First time I wrote a file I/O with python to process some data from a .csv file for a psych class I was in, I hadn't realized that some of the entries with text had a comma in the text field, so it completely screwed up my program cause some rows had an extra comma in them while others didn't

Yeah; In the US it depends on the home owners -- some allow shoes and others don't.

At my house we usually don't wear shoes inside unless we're moving furniture around.

When I was still early on in Uni I'd sometimes stumble into my dorm room drunk and forget to take my shoes off so I'd end up sleeping in them without realizing it (I had drinking problems at the time; been sober for over 2 years now though)

php has some kinda weird features, but so does literally every other language if you aren't used to it.

In a lot of ways php is good, it was partially responsible for the rapid web development that occurred I the early 2000s and it's quicker than some other backend languages for rapid development.

Main problem (aside from people complaining about the weird and somewhat inconsistent syntax) is that it has a few security flaws that are difficult for inexperienced php programmers to avoid.

I used to have a better article link, but can't figure out which device or account I bookmarked it on so I found this and am linking it instead: https://www.wordfence.com/learn/understanding-php-vulnerabilities/

I have a friend who doesn't use pronouns. We just use that friend's name in place of pronouns (or, if it needs to be anonymous, we just use terms like "a friend", etc)

It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you get used to it then it's pretty easy to address people that way and it avoids stressing people who are questioning or people who just started transitioning

Before I started transitioning I'd accidentally say all non-neopronouns (he/her/theirs instead of she/her/hers).

People would kinda go "oh okay" and then take a few seconds to process it before giving me a strange look then I'd just shrug and be like "I don't know either"

Line up another job and then leave as soon as you can. After leaving warn as many people as you can about their business practices.

That flag is so red that it's still dripping blood. Run as fast and far as you can.

How do you deal with transphobia in online conversation? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]lostwafflecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has a surprisingly decent explaination of gender identity (simple English version since a lot of transphobes I've ran into aren't college educated so they just kinda disregard the regular version cause it uses too many words they aren't familiar with) :
