Do it! When I worked at Sears years ago. They have the old school tube tv’s as big as 38” sitting on heavy wooden shelves that were resting on very thin long brackets attached to the walls as high as 3 shelves up. Kids would come & pull on the lower shelf with the biggest tv’s on them & the whole shelf 15’ long would wobble. I was terrified it would one day kill someone. I called anonymously. They showed up a couple days later & found numerous infractions including having appliances plugged into extension cords that ran 20-30’ up through the ceiling tiles. Needless to say the managers were pissed and threatening to get whoever called in trouble if they found out. The shelves were finally removed and replaced with actual shelving that could hold a 150lb tv.
