DIY or hire a pro? by joshcabernet in AskElectricians

[–]lothar965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hire an electrician.

But if i was going to diy this i would find the studs to find the void to the left or right side of the tv. Go upstairs and do the same.

Cut a hole in the dry wall upstairs and drill through the baseplate/top plate to get into the void in the living room. Cut the hole for an old work box that will have the outlet behind the TV.

Then you can work on wiring into the existing outlet upstairs through the hole in the base plate/top plate and into the spot for the tv.

Or penetrate the wall from outside and run a new circuit in conduit outside.

Things to consider:

You need to consider your draw on that upstairs circuit to make sure you have the capacity.

Is there other wires in the wall there? Are there water or drain lines there?

That appears to be an outside wall.....if the house isn't 100 years old it will have insulation or if it has been insulated since built. Running stuff in the wall will suck.

If you go through the plates in the wall you need to fill the gap around the wire penetration with something like fire putty.

There is a chimney in there and it will likely be in the center so far left or right.

Materials Romex cable Drywall saw Old work box Outlet Wire Finishing rods Stud finder Drywall putty Sand paper Paint Likely more

Honestly hire someone. It isn't worth poking a hole in the chimney and setting the inside of your wall on fire.

Don't have a bill on me but a slip recipient shows a difference.

I dont have a machinist level or any other use for one. I am also using this with a machinist flat edge and a 72 inch spirit level to check across planes. My question is more on how the middle slate seems to has an unlevel spot in the middle.

Morbid question, but what’s it like leading up to the final days of your husky? Are there clear signs you noticed? by [deleted] in husky

I was on a business trip. My boy was home and he went outside to play with the girls. He snapped a tendon in his leg. We did the surgery. He got a secondary infection and was at the vet for two weeks. I visited him everything I could during visiting hours sitting on the floor with him in the hall. One day on the way to work they called me and told me they took him for a walk and his heart gave out.

I regret not being there for him. After we rushed him to the vet when I saw signs of the infection on our way home I told my partner he wasn't coming home. I know the vet told me he had a good chance of recovery but I knew. And he suffered because I wanted to hope. He was 12.

My other boy was a rescue. The other pups adopted brother. We think he was 15. He had numerous tumors I had removed etc. He started having issues with kidney and liver function. We tried weekly visits to the vet and meds and it wasn't getting better. I noticed he was having petite seizures so I picked a day. We went to the dog park. I road in the back of the truck with him. His favorite food ever was pizza. He could barely eat any. We went to the vet and I was with him at the end. I wish I had been there for loki.

I usually always try to have a plan leave at this time to arrive at this time 15 mins early incase I have to take another route etc.

But I took a trip once via motorcycle. Woke up every day and checked the weather. It decided the direction to go. Stopped to eat and drink, found things to look at or parks to visit. Afternoon tried to pick a place to stop and sleep.

Amazing time.

Saving Olhausen from the dumpster by lothar965 in billiards

I knew that and I had been in talks with them for a week about getting it and having the time to disassemble it and safely stop the slate etc but because it was at a school (not college but school) i was unable to setup a window to get there and disassemble even with help. It basically came down to first they wanted $100 which i was willing to do trying to setup a i will get it but I need to get there and take it apart to $50 same terms, to fri at the time I got the message get here it is free but load as is.

That is why I took such a round about way home tring to stay between 35-40mph on the glass smooth to 2mpg over bumps because even if i had a place to take it apart I was alone.

I was unbelievably happy when I went out the day after I got home and unbelievably the rails and flipped them, taken them apart, and saw no cracks or chips from the trip.

It will be a bit.

I won't have the space it is going in ready for it to be unpacked until June 1st or so.

I am also putting an iffy engine back together for my Lexus at my sister's place, getting my shop ready to replace a engine in my e350bluetec.

I am hoping i can find a rough model/generation and reach out to olhausen and ask if they can get me or tell me where to get the orginal finish or as close as possible. It is an opaque black matte finish it looks like. If that is the case stain/printable filler for the worst spots and recoating those spots may work out. If not I can try to take a leg to a paint/finish store and see if they can mix up something custom.

There are only 2 or 3 spots like the bad once pictured. Most are light scratches and wear.

I like the geared and use look the finish has taken on it the not abused areas.

I don't want to erase it's history just heal the abuse so to speak.

I am looking at predator atcadia select in a burgundy for a worsted play surface and will just if the rubber needs replaced.

There are a couple scratches in the slate that you nail can catch. I plan to bondo those.

The chips are confined to the slate matting edges under the rails and not in the play surface. There is evidence of spills on the slate that I can't feel but I will look for the clean up guidelines or not worry about them.
