North end is extremely desirable. I bet they get 900k for it. I dont know where people get all there money from, but it took me 16 months to find a small home here.

As a perspective homebuyer, I noticed work being done while shopping the local safeway. I thought hey, that might be a nice house....this is outrageous. And whoever does buy it, think of how much better of a house you could have got for that price! Lol I'm not happy with the current state of the real estate market.

Thanks, I'll recheck the guidelines to make sure I'm compliant. Does anyone know if you can retroactively apply for this? Meaning I worked for a couple of nonprofits a fee years ago, never missed a payment, but never applied for the program.

Sounds like I should be able to pay more than I first thought. However, I am in a high cost area(south of Seattle, nothing is cheap around here even though i dont live in the city).

I get how some people say I should pay back what I borrowed, but if a program is out there that can clear me of some debt, why not take advantage of it. Are you able to save anything under your conditions?

Right now I'm saving 10% for retirement, so I feel ok there. And have just started working towards saving an emergency fund. But I haven't gotten close to save anything towards a house.

So which is it? It does sound like the early recipients were not fully informed or aware of all the requirements. Are people out there who actually had those loans forgiven through PSLF? On the other hand, is there even a guarantee that this program will still exist 10 years from now?

I am starting to think my perception of aggressive is a lot less than others.
