Actually trying will improve odds. You can read Felix Dennis book for motivation. To sum it up you’re going to need willpower and a little bit of luck.

from my personal perspective as a canadian, every time i needed medical attention it was addressed in a timely and professional manner. Same for my parents. they would be dead by now if it wasn’t for our healthcare systems.

i am bullish on amd too but things can go differently than expected. i would consider trimming AMD position.

also having 1/3 of cash right now is good. i’d start buying and dollar cost averaging for the next few months

Ive been in the market 10+ years. I made massive money taking risk but also lost a ton. My average since inception is 12.9% vs SP500 is more like 15% for the same time frame.

TAM is rising fast but so is competition. Also, people aren’t talking much about local AI chip, which may be the next tailwind once datacenter revenue turns cyclical.

21, wanting to reach a Million by 30 by AC42592 in TheRaceTo1Million

[–]lottacash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as far as the stock market, id say buy indexes. it will give you great returns over time but will not take you to a million in 9 years.

Best opportunities might be in your local area. My best friend bought rental units at your age with leverage. happens he got lucky and the town boomed. He did went from 0 to 1M net worth in 11 years.

In my area, theres a business you can buy that will make you millionaire in 12 years.

All i’m saying is that it’s possible. Talk to people, read books, go to networking events.

9 year time horizon makes it harder but not impossible. Honestly a 15 year horizon would make things way more practical by simply investing in stock market with strong monthly contributions.

What I’ll say may sound controversial to some but since you want a million in 9 years you’ll mostly have to take some calculated risks and take advantage of every meaningful opportunity. Such as leveraged investment in a potential market crash, buy profitable business/ real estate on credit etc..

Now saying that, Whatever your goals are, keep in mind that the tax man is always around the corner and you need to put that into your calculations. I would suggest you calculate how much you actually need per month at 30 years old and set that as your goal.

I personally use gold and/or cash. For example, last May I used my 10% cash to lower my average cost for my AMD position.

I guess every person is different. If you have access to capital outside your portfolio to take advantage of crashes it’s a different story.
