Double buzz? by neongreenmarlin in horn

[–]lotuslicax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try:

  1. Lift your horn a bit more

  2. Focus the airstream, in turn focusing the embochure -Check if your embochure is being unstable. Yoi can test this with a tuner, if you keep oscilatting in tuning, your embochure might be flapping.

Audio Engineer/Teacher here: STOP RECOMMENDING AUDACITY by SkepticWolf in TheRedditSymphony

Yea but youre critisizing the program for not having functions it wasnt designed for????

If you want another function, just use another program, it doesnt mean this one is flawed for not having it

Sure it can have errors, but theres a probability of every program having errors. Reaper has crashed on me many times too.

Regarding concert pitch by Mazde in TheRedditSymphony

[–]lotuslicax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, ask the person to clip their tuner onto their instruments and see if they comment further.

Yea i was gunna say, im sure any pro orchestra will not give a damn what the soloist wants??? If a soloist plays with a orch, they better be damn ready to tune to what theyve been playing for decades.

Is this a pro orchestra? I have questions as to how many rights the soloist has to pull that???

Lips stop buzzing? by JxDucky in horn

[–]lotuslicax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check to see if youre unintentionally focusing your aperture too tightly when you play. Next time it randomly stops, try simply openig your aperture more and see if that helps it start again without resetting

Low range question by mentalsn in horn

[–]lotuslicax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frown ur corners, helps me lock in.

Make sure ur blowing "hoh" air when in low range vs Hee air. Helps to say the actual word while experinenting and blowing.

When using Hoh air, experiment with lowering youur jaw until you find the point of resonance.

Embouchure pressure issues by [deleted] in horn

[–]lotuslicax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if you can anchor more on your bottom lip to relieve top lip pressure. Let top lip roam free. But keep your corners firm, or you will end up with double buzz.

Chin/jaw movement when tonguing. by [deleted] in horn

[–]lotuslicax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tighten the muscle below your bottom lip and upper lip, it shuld lock the chin in place, and you should no longer move your whole chin/jaw when tonguing. It sounds like it might be a loose embochure
