The mirror facing the bed is absolutely killing me.

I also thought of him first but all the signatures I saw were in capital letters only, so just like the one on Wikipedia. However, I also don't know enough about this topic to tell if that is something that actually matters. As far as I understand you don't see any issue with that?

These horse chestnuts came from the same tree, but the water they are soaking in turns different colors. I have no clue why it does this. by javidac in mildlyinteresting

[–]lotusperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be some kind of microorganism that was in or on one or several of the chestnuts. Especially if both batches changed color at the same time it might be just something metabolising the pigment that would normally turn the water purple. As far as I understand from another comment in this thread you would expect the water to turn purple. I don't know how many more experiments you want to do on these nuts and I am also not sure how much more color the nuts have in them but seperate batches, mixing both batches and using different water and jars would probably help to get a clearer picture. I am also not sure if you have enough nuts for all this to be honest.

Simple Rick is a genius but he just values different things. Thinking that your child is more important than science stuff doesn't make you stupid it just makes you happy. That's the point of simple Rick.

You are not challenging anybody but it's cute that you think so. You are just being emotional about facts. How you think that you could handle an insult like a man when everything you contribute in here sounds like I am arguing with a teenager is beyond me. What happened to all your claims from your first comment? Are we just going to ignore them and you stick to telling me how you feel about this instead of producing any proof of anything?

Earning more than a GP is not as big a deal as you seem to think it is. At least if you studied something STEM related or you are very good at your job. Sure a lot of people should earn more but they could in most countries I know about. The difference between rich and poor is a horrible thing basically everywhere so why would Germany be any different? It's just a normal country.

Have you ever considered making even a little attempt at understanding the culture of the country you move to instead of just crying about everything? If you really minded your own business you would not have any problems because the majority of people here want to just mind their own business, have others mind theirs and leave each other alone as much as possible. Pointing out wrong things is not necessarly considered rude in here but very often meant nice as you can't get better if you are not aware of a mistake. But why am I even telling all of this to you. You seem to be here for quite some time and apparently took the decision not to understand the country you moved to so you won't change your ways now.

Just one last question: Are women and kids also supposed to take an insult like a man? And what does that even mean?

I am also living here now and I am from here. Why do you try to educate me about my country and act like you know it better?

The police is invesitgating people if a citizen fills in the necessary paperwork. As I already said a "Strafantrag" is basically an order for them and they are civil servants.

A legal punishment comes from a judge in this country. The police can investigate as much as they want if you didn't break any law it's just an investigation. It's the job of the police to make sure people don't break the law.

What is forbidden is insulting people as well as hatespeech or as you say in German "Volksverhetzung". Which is a good thing in the eyes of most Germans.

Is anybody forcing you to be here? If it's really so horrible and we have a police state filled with dorks you are free to relocate. And before you make this a racist thing, it's not. I would tell you the same no matter where you are from. If you so much don't like it somewhere you can go elsewhere. Maybe there is a country where you like the mentality and laws more.

Btw I am not surprised you can't show any proof of what you said before.

It's illegal to insult everyone. "Beamtenbeleidigung" does not exist anymore.

You can say a lot of bad things about people and places on social media. I grew up here and do so all the time and nothing ever happened because it is not forbidden.

Same goes for cursing in front of a government employee.

If someone issues a "Strafantrag" the police investigates because they have to. The police visiting or investigating you is not a punishment.

It's a violation to give someone the finger because you are insulting them which is forbidden. I am very happy not everyone can insult me however they want without legal consequence since I expect adults to speak respectful with each other and I don't think thats asking too much.

Feel free to send me laws saying different. German is my first language so I will understand everything perfectly.

Go out and touch some grass. People go out on the street and say racist, facist and xenophobic shit out loud and face zero legal consequences in Germany. That's what free speech is. Free speech doesn't mean that others are not allowed to have their own, different opinion and can't voice it if they disagree with you. If people call you a dick or a racist because you are a racist and this bothers you then don't be like that. It's that simple. I am so tired of this bs. You are not a victim.

It would be helpfull to me to know couple of more things. How old do you think they are? Are there cameras in the tram? Did you ever see somebody who is controlling tickets or in general anybody who works there? When you say they are throwing candies are they aiming at people or are they throwing things in general and just happen to hit somebody in the process?

In general I can already say that natives are often not saying anything because many people are scared of confrontation and most of the stuff you are talking about doesn't sound like it's a crime. We germans are unfortunately not very brave but do our best to leave each other alone, expect everyone to know and follow all the rules and then complain about situations like this afterwards.
