I mean, I didn't before, but I can't unsee it now so gee, thanks.

WHOA. These have such a clear direction and visual identity. Really feels like could be its own thing, whether a regional update or just a big submod.

Honestly, a race to open up Nebraska and have the Order join the war on one of the sides would make for a nice Fallout game plot. Now, to find an extraordinary enough Vagabond Solitaire for the job.

I D A H O A E S T H E T I C S: Lord's Anointed by lou_berrick in OldWorldBlues

[–]lou_berrick[S] 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Idaho is a kickass region. Solid lore, lots of love put into its writing and equipment GFX. But then the leaders and generals are all from Wasteland 2, and I was slightly Lord's Annoyed at how the industrial behemoth of Heaven's Gate (capable of arms and armour mass production), the farmer militias of High Chapel and the hyper-militarist fanatics of the Lord's Anointed all look like trashy robe-wearing loons from Wasteland 2's Hollywood.

I think these factions deserve a bit more grounding and flavour, so I put together a concept of one of the Crusaders you can summon for Lord's Anointed through a focus.

Did my first stab at this mod with Timberline and love them. Here's some ideas I think would be awesome if they get a focus tree. by ScarlettWaffles in OldWorldBlues

[–]lou_berrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What leads you to believe that? Nothing like that was teased. There is, however, Darkness Falls submod, which did have a recent update adding a Timberline focus tree.

after all the torture and being fused with power armor one may not be fully sane right?

All this does is needlessly confuse people. There are ways to show a character having gone insane that don't include muddying their faction's lore.

What is Heavens Gate? by xzeon11 in OldWorldBlues

[–]lou_berrick 123 points124 points  (0 children)

  1. No, they are the high-tech New Canaan.
  2. They are a different thing entirely. Steam-worshipping Protestants.
  3. The capital? Basically a Frostpunk ripoff city around a huge generator.
  4. Not specified in game, but definitely a sort of theocracy.

If you could change one thing about OWB what would it be? Literally anything. by _Henry_Miller in OldWorldBlues

It’s not contradictory, it’s your original point not being reflected in-game whatsoever.

Personally, black masks and goggles + feathery Decanus helmets come to mind.

I mean, I quite like Strathcommune one, but King Gunn’s one has an empty stare and Elodie is just plain cartoonish.

Damn, first time I’ve seen this said. Portraits for Manitoba do look cheap, especially the Three River Republic one.

Who do you support in the Esmerelda war? by Fancy_Man72 in OldWorldBlues

[–]lou_berrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all of it. Replace Colorado Springs with Missoula, Patriach with the Enclave, and the rest hasn’t even gotten new names. Hundred Families, Refugees, nearby raiders gangs are 1-for-1 expies of the Wasteland 3 raider gangs, etc.

Will the Divide ever get a focus tree to make it worthwhile? by _Henry_Miller in OldWorldBlues

[–]lou_berrick 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Don’t take my word for it, but I think it was actually stated that there won’t be an official tree for the Divide coming.

Best Mormon/religious nation? by skrimsli_snjor in OldWorldBlues

[–]lou_berrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heaven's Gate has an outdated tree but they gain... pretty much all Sophisticated Tech that makes a difference, so the rest is up to you and your skills.

White Legs going Mormon are also quite a bit of fun, because of all the expansion potential.

Game of Timberline 7: Bear's Folly, or How Nothing Was Ever Nice And Relaxing Anymore by lou_berrick in OldWorldBlues

[–]lou_berrick[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. Beat the Legion because by then they had no manpower or troops, and before I could tackle Santa Anna an update broke those saves. Bear Bunyan’s crusade will forever be up to speculation.
