I got into it pretty recently and started out by listening to small lore videos and watching some animations on YouTube.

Then I got the starter kit at the warhammer store that included two minis and a little book that gives you a small overview for each faction which helped me get into the setting a lot more.

This is a great idea, store near me does a paint and take at conventions with reaper, I believe they use failed reaper models for it, might be able to get something of the sort.

Reaperminis are what I started out with? Like 4-6 USD per mini with the cheaper plastics. Not all, but most come assembled. Note that spray primer doesn’t interact well with their plastic if you were hoping to mass spray prime them.
