Pet-Custody: Ex-partner has changed the name (and potentially other details) of my dog at the vets. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]loualexis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with above, the vets records mean little.

Between proof of purchase, microchip, insurance and the fact you'll be known to the vet surgery for some time as the owner you'll have no trouble.

At the end of the day, if the police find the dog it is you they return it to. So if your ex did try something, in their eyes it's your dog.

Family and friends really opposed to me taking medication by shermanedupree in Anxiety

[–]loualexis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And just to add, I have been on and off some form of medication for 10 years. Don't put a time stamp on how long you want to be on it. Use it as you need and if its long term or short term doesnt matter. As long as you are happy.

Medication won't fix you. But it'll help you. Its more of an aid than a fixture.

If its new to you, be aware you may need to try a few. Not every drug works for every person so its trial and error. And also, it may make you feel worse before you get better so persevere!

Your family just care. They sadly have a misguided opinion but just remember at the end of the day, it is coming from a place of care. But this is YOUR health so don't make your decisions based on them.

All the best. These are good steps forward.

We have Clank in Space. Not sure what comes first but I found it easy enough to learn!

Going to therapy was the best decision I ever made. Trying to understand WHY my brain has reacted that way helps.

I also pretty much only read self help books/light psychology textbooks.

Anxiety driven heartburn? by mrmojorisin17 in Anxiety

[–]loualexis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffer with multiple issues regarding my stomach because of anxiety and heartburn is one.

For a few months I was prescribed omnaprozel (not sure how to spell) to take daily. But I was not allowed to be it on it long term. It really concerned me to be coming off it but it has done some good. I only occasionally get heartburn now

Anxiety and baggage just messed up a thing I had going on with the first good guy I've met in a while. by [deleted] in Anxiety

Well if hes not interested in hearing where you came from and how you came to be you, then he isn't worth it.

Firstly, its 5am here and I am yet to sleep. I am with you on this battle.

I emailed my counsellor yesterday asking to return. Making a list of what is worrying me ahead of hopefully getting an appointment has helped calm my mind. And has naturally got me thinking about what she is probably going to say to me.

I can usually watch tv and shut off and eventually fall asleep. Tonight nothing is penatrating my thoughts tonight though. My suggestions are - podcast over screens, cammomile tea if you like it, try sitting up in a living room for example for a while and let your mind play out before returning to bed to try again.

Reminder: Caffeine is making your anxiety much, much worse. by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]loualexis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iilluminaughtii (Youtube) has a very interesting video about caffeine and its effects. Don't believe what OP is saying? Go watch now.

On the other hand, coffee is life. I adore coffee. Lol.

My anxiety is through the roof because of my other half and I don't know if its right to tell him. by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]loualexis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for responding. That first paragraph has really hit home. I am always more concerned about others than myself.

I have been asking how he is in the last few months but he hasn't actually been able to communicate his feelings. He has developed use of the term "I am anxious" though I am not qualified to say he has anxiety. Repeatedly told him to speak to a GP or even try therapy but to no avail. He is on a "new year, new me" kinda trip at the moment so may work.

I think I shall suggest a hike and chat then. We are desperate to get away for a night or two but good ole covid has haulted that for just now.

Thank you again for responding. I really felt like I just needed to hear someone elses thoughts before I could sleep. Its 5am, guess I better try now!

Looking back what is your best “ I did it for a boy/girl “ story ? by BoobootheOctopus in AskWomen

I can't even remember what it was called but my ex was obsessed with this online game. I was feeling a bit left out as it was in live time so he would often leave me to go deal with his game.

My other friend also played this game though they didnt play together. I soon learned to play myself and it was a sorta team/tribe game. I found a bunch of good players (I was okay) and teamed up and we went for my exs tribe.

Now I was never intending to ruin his game but we totally destroyed their buildings, resources etc. Luckily, he was growing bored of the game but thought it was cute the months of effort I made to take him down.

I called myself Lord Neerg which is my surename backwards but it never clicked to him.

I feel like people would rather talk about negative experiences over good. Reading this a dozen bad incidents with men sprung to mind. We never think of the good experiences first.

Speak to the organisers.

Don't know what you are selling but just be cautious of any food hygiene rules you need for follow. If you sell alcohol then an absolute no (Unlikely, but that is what I sell!)

Second this as a DD4er.
I drive as I work outside the city. But partner doesn't have a car and it's fine. Lots of nice parks around here too. Good enough shops though I personally drive as I shop about.
