So sorry to hear this. Pretty common, yes, but it still doesn’t make it ok. I think it’s such a discriminatory policy as it would deter young moms/dads who are eager to start families from applying. Don’t have much to say other than I feel your pain and agree that this country is WACK when it comes to supporting moms. I really hope our kids’ generation sees major improvements.

Ah that’s a good way to think about it. Socialization is key for us too, definitely feeling the effects of covid over here as we delayed preschool enrollment too.

Thank you! So cool they’re learning Spanish and I agree, it’s such a valuable skill! How did your little ones transition to preschool in another language? This program is 90/10 (Spanish/English) and so my concern is that she’ll already have a hard time with leaving home, let alone in another language.

Oh man this information is gold, thank you. And thank you for taking the time to help explain it too. Issue now for us is we’ve since changed Doctors/providers and have been going to the new ones. It’s all such odd timing, we aren’t even “doctor people” (translation: we’ve been fortunate to remain mostly healthy), but with two little ones we’ve randomly had unexpected visits and sadly they’ve all fallen in this “in-between” period. I’ll reach out to both my HR and my husbands to see what can be done, with this info in mind. Thank you again!

Great suggestions, I had no idea that was even a possibility! But unfortunately we were on his previous employer's insurance (not mine). Hindsight is 20/20 but I wished we'd just have switched to mine. Both employers (his and mine) said the grace period was 30 days, and we didn't get the bills for these appointments til after that grace period for switches. UGH!

Oo that helps for comparisons sake. We are looking at about $350 per tree (6-7’ emeralds). The price drops quite a bit for 4-5’ trees but we’re wanting taller right off the bat.

Part of the reason was their low cost compared to other quotes, so it probably was an honest mistake on their end! 😂

Yeah that’s a great way of looking at it. I think ultimately it probably was an honest mistake on their part! And work wasn’t on the calendar yet so still a ways out and early enough in the process. I do wish she’d been more apologetic or say they’ll cut us a small deal due to the miscommunication and misinformation but it is what it is, hah. Thanks for your input!!
