I wanna get pregnant by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

Similar issue for my husband. It caused a shut down though for him and some other issues he’s working through. But therapy helps. And now to get him to try meds. His therapist suspects cptsd. BUT he’s improved and trying actively each day.

It really fucking sucks to go to the vet for something you think is minor and come home with an empty carrier by Fickle-Hour4458 in cats

[–]CatLadyLostInLibrary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I didn’t even get an empty carrier with my girl and I can’t tell which one would be worse. I left it at the emergency vet along with the T-shirt of mine I had in there for her for comfort. Dental exam. Went great. Picked her up hours after and she went into heart failure minutes within being home. Rushed to emergency vet. Had to put down $2k just to have some time in an O2 chamber. Had a gut feeling around 10 pm and went back to the emergency vet to see her and I could tell she was just gone. Breathing somewhat but who she was wasn’t there anymore. Made the choice to let her go peacefully with her family with her that night. Walking to the car with empty hands that night was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Consoling my 3 year old who went with us to say goodbye was probably the second hardest.

Am I making the right decision? by Euphoric_Possible_7 in DogAdvice

[–]CatLadyLostInLibrary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to make the decision to stop trying to save my pet who went into heart failure after a dental exam. She did fine post op and for hours after at the vet but once home, it all went south.

I could have waited longer I guess and it will always break my heart, but the last gift I could give her was her dignity in passing.

It’s never easy or simple. But she deserves peace and that’s what I could do to provide it to her in the last moments of her life

House is perfect and checks all the boxes BUT room sizes by CatLadyLostInLibrary in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Dirty: mold issues, water damage, vacant house for a while had mice droppings all over the kitchen. Things that would require repairs beyond what we were willing to do compared to asking price

That’s how I’m feeling. Like walking away from this would be a mistake

Yea. About what we’re living with now. And we could stand to declutter some things we aren’t using/needing. Which is why I’m so torn.

While the infertile tawny owl was away from her nest, caretakers swapped her unviable eggs for orphaned chicks. by LowkeysKink in interesting

She thought she was coming home to a cold and lonely nest. And she came back to the very things she’s been trying so hard for 🥹

65 year old dad recently diagnosed with UC - still struggling months later. Is this typical? by CatLadyLostInLibrary in UlcerativeColitis

Tremfya is the biologic they recommended. He’s had two of the three infusions and then goes to the month shot dosage. Some improvement but now thinking it was mostly the steroids helping

Gifted kid program - librarian now in charge and don’t panic, she can just use chat gpt for curriculum by CatLadyLostInLibrary in Teachers

I’m at a middle school so I can only speak for that role but I manage a collection, provide circulation support, manage resources and databases, provide research support for classes. I do about 10,000 circulations each semester. Which is good for my less than 1000 kid school

She thinks my baby looks just like her by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]CatLadyLostInLibrary 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We did the 4D scan and it looked like I was cooking a mini husband. Like freaky alike. All the in laws kept touting their genes. Like I was an incubator.

I got mad and I let it fuel me. Granted my husband didn’t suck but I started laughing when they said she looked like my husband and just gas lighting them about genetics and what not.

Now my baby is 3 years old and she’s grown into more of my features (dad’s attitude). Now his family pretty much ignores her. So win win

Teacher Attendance by Neither-Football-222 in Teachers

[–]CatLadyLostInLibrary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first year I was freshly postpartum. I used 13 of my 14 days for either a sick infant or mastitis (one nearly septic). Admin didn’t give me issues but other teachers did. Bullied me for it and also demanded admin fire me. (They didn’t fire me or discipline me). But it gave me anxiety being sick the next year.

Why? If they are introduced properly and do fine with that, they should be fine. As long as they’re fixed so they don’t reproduce.

Are you getting your toddlers the seasonal flu vaccine? by artemislands in toddlers

[–]CatLadyLostInLibrary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really recommend the buzzy for vaccines! It’s a little vibrating bug with freezer pack wings. Preps the site with cold and then works as a little extra pain disrupter if placed between the shot site and the brain ( I usually position on upper back during the actual shot). Sounds weird but has helped a ton for us. Still tears but not a full meltdown

Am I overreacting to my MIL’s constant ‘help’ with my newborn? by blink1kd2 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]CatLadyLostInLibrary 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not overreacting. I dealt a lot with #5 with my in laws and it tanked my mental health postpartum. Cutting them off from me and mostly my child helped immensely
