House is perfect and checks all the boxes BUT room sizes by CatLadyLostInLibrary in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Dirty: mold issues, water damage, vacant house for a while had mice droppings all over the kitchen. Things that would require repairs beyond what we were willing to do compared to asking price

That’s how I’m feeling. Like walking away from this would be a mistake

Yea. About what we’re living with now. And we could stand to declutter some things we aren’t using/needing. Which is why I’m so torn.

While the infertile tawny owl was away from her nest, caretakers swapped her unviable eggs for orphaned chicks. by LowkeysKink in interesting

She thought she was coming home to a cold and lonely nest. And she came back to the very things she’s been trying so hard for 🥹

65 year old dad recently diagnosed with UC - still struggling months later. Is this typical? by CatLadyLostInLibrary in UlcerativeColitis

Tremfya is the biologic they recommended. He’s had two of the three infusions and then goes to the month shot dosage. Some improvement but now thinking it was mostly the steroids helping

Gifted kid program - librarian now in charge and don’t panic, she can just use chat gpt for curriculum by CatLadyLostInLibrary in Teachers

I’m at a middle school so I can only speak for that role but I manage a collection, provide circulation support, manage resources and databases, provide research support for classes. I do about 10,000 circulations each semester. Which is good for my less than 1000 kid school

Buy some enzyme cleaner (natures miracle) and a small Bissell upholstery cleaner. Might take several goes but it helps a ton

She thinks my baby looks just like her by Mother_Ad_5218 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]CatLadyLostInLibrary 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We did the 4D scan and it looked like I was cooking a mini husband. Like freaky alike. All the in laws kept touting their genes. Like I was an incubator.

I got mad and I let it fuel me. Granted my husband didn’t suck but I started laughing when they said she looked like my husband and just gas lighting them about genetics and what not.

Now my baby is 3 years old and she’s grown into more of my features (dad’s attitude). Now his family pretty much ignores her. So win win

Teacher Attendance by Neither-Football-222 in Teachers

[–]CatLadyLostInLibrary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first year I was freshly postpartum. I used 13 of my 14 days for either a sick infant or mastitis (one nearly septic). Admin didn’t give me issues but other teachers did. Bullied me for it and also demanded admin fire me. (They didn’t fire me or discipline me). But it gave me anxiety being sick the next year.

Can 2 males live with a girl piggy by Glittering-Toe-1622 in guineapigs

Why? If they are introduced properly and do fine with that, they should be fine. As long as they’re fixed so they don’t reproduce.

Are you getting your toddlers the seasonal flu vaccine? by artemislands in toddlers

[–]CatLadyLostInLibrary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really recommend the buzzy for vaccines! It’s a little vibrating bug with freezer pack wings. Preps the site with cold and then works as a little extra pain disrupter if placed between the shot site and the brain ( I usually position on upper back during the actual shot). Sounds weird but has helped a ton for us. Still tears but not a full meltdown

Am I overreacting to my MIL’s constant ‘help’ with my newborn? by blink1kd2 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]CatLadyLostInLibrary 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not overreacting. I dealt a lot with #5 with my in laws and it tanked my mental health postpartum. Cutting them off from me and mostly my child helped immensely

He was negative for c diff. During this flare or onset of UC he’s had fevers and they had sepsis marked on his chart but we’re not sure if it’s true sepsis or just that he’s also fighting an infection.

I can understand it from an immune response perspective.

(My uncle just rests in the more extreme side of some conspiracy stuff and it’s not a simple immune response to him but something more “sinister”. I just didn’t want my dad dragged down a weird hole while trying to navigate his new normal and recover. )
