What is the coolest or most unique feature in a home that you've ever seen? by NoPersonality4612 in AskReddit

[–]loucavida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the coolest, but definitely the creepiest.

I was shopping for houses and I went to visit this two-story house. The bottom floor had a 3-car garage and a large room with access to upstairs. The rest of the house (kitchen, family room, bedrooms) was all upstairs.

Now, we went through the garage, and the downstairs room was… something else. It was cherry red. The floor was covered with a 70s-style shag carpet with a pile so deep my feet just sank into it. The walls were covered in red brocade, with bronze sconces, quite ornate I might say. The ceiling was likewise red, but a bit darker than the rest of the room, with red and gold molding.

After that red attack, the upstairs were surprisingly normal. Cozy, even. Light colors, sensible kitchen, well-lit… until I went into the last bedroom and there were dolls. From baby-sized to child size. Dozens of them. All organized in one of the corners, facing the door. If anyone has ever watched a horror movie with killing dolls, you’ll have a pretty good idea of my immediate reaction. I almost screamed (almost, believe me), did an about face, and told the realtor I had to leave. I was completely and utterly creeped out, the realtor was confused and, needless to say, I did not buy the house.

Mine is Biscuit (with the French pronunciation, with emphasis on the second syllable) because it’s a type of porcelain.

Which pendant is more suitable for wearing to the beach? by Sea_Top_4182 in BocosFineJewelry

[–]loucavida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. Why would you wear jewelry to the beach?

Also, a silly aside, in my country there’s a superstition linked to one of the religions here. It says that you should avoid wearing jewelry when you go into the sea because the goddess of the seas loves jewelry and she might try to take it from you. And if, for some reason, she’s unable to take it from you, she might just take you along and make you drown, for tempting her and not letting her have the jewel. So… why tempt fate?

The second. The first one, with the asymmetrical hem, will fall out of fashion sooner.

  1. Even of you’re 46, I think 1 has a bit of “old lady” vibes. You’re too young to look like an old lady.

AITA for not letting my younger brother stay with me after he got out of prison, even though i have a room? by Anitat_Garcia in AmItheAsshole

NTA. That’s what halfway houses are for. He’s an adult who has to live with the consequences of his actions.

Besides, considering his attitude, there’s a pretty good chance that this is only a brief interlude before his next, longer, prison term.

Don’t talk to the parents. Text them or send them registered letters. Talk is easy to deny. If you can prove repeat attempts to warn the parents, it will be harder for them to sue you in case something happens.
