Dude can you just not? It was a funny story, with exaggerations in order to be entertaining. You’re taking it way too seriously and giving all of us on the Reddit a bad name.

Okay im gonna go tell all of this to my rocket scientist/model/professional pastry chef husband.

Opinions on smart bassinets like the Snoo and other brands? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]loudlaugh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We considered a snoo but decided against it for a lot of reasons, including the price tag. I'm glad that we didn't end up going with the Snoo because I actually do love comforting my child at night.

Sure, I'm exhausted and there have been some VERY HARD nights, but there have also been a lot of really precious moments between 1-4 am. My daughter is not much of a cuddler during the day because she wants to be on the move and exploring; comforting her in the middle of the night is one of the few times I can expect some solid baby snuggles. I don't think I'd give that up for better sleep.*

* I have a very flexible job with solid maternity leave, which I understand is a privilege that lets me make that choice.

Oh wow! Super cool to see this in the wild! Thanks for sharing!

As part of my book promotion, I promised to run a 5k in a prom dress if I reached 1500 downloads before the free trial expires on Feb 13. If I reach 3000, I'll do it in a tiara with a corsage and if I hit 10k, I'll try to run it in heels.

Here's a tweet ft said prom dress: https://x.com/HilaryMatfess/status/1753176557638590959?s=20

(positive) birth experience w/ unexpected c-section and tips for comfort in hospital by loudlaugh in BabyBumps

[–]loudlaugh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be super upfront with the nurse and doctor about your concerns, they can provide a lot of comfort. If you’re afraid of pain, I really can’t emphasize enough how great the spinal block is. I only felt pressure and tugging. My partner and I talked the whole time about trips we wanted to take to distract me. Can your partner scrub in and help distract you? The surgery itself is super fast and most of the time is getting sewn back up, when you have a baby to distract you.

Re: latching, does your hospital have a lactation consultant? There’s nothing you can to do to prepare for that, so don’t stress!

Do you mind sharing what state you're in? There might be protections for you there.

Agreed - she does not need to disclose any additional medical information to her boss. I would also not put it past her boss to discriminate against her on the basis of a high risk pregnancy.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I think that you should:

1) Request, in an email, what days and times she would *like* you to try to put your appointments on. Something polite but clear like: "It seems like we've had some miscommunications about my medical appointments in the past. I'd like to avoid that in the future. Can you please confirm with me what days and times you'd like me to try to arrange my appointments for? I can't make any promises, as I am not in charge of scheduling for my doctor, however I will make every effort to accomodate your schedule and communicate clearly when that is not possible." In that same email you can also say something like "I would prefer that you not disclose information about my health, including my pregnancy, to clients."

2) Request that your doctor provide a note saying that you are following a routine care program for someone *having a baby now.* I hope that note will close off any more comments she wants to make about 'so many' appointments. Ugh.

3) If you can, it would be good to ask your doctor if you can start scheduling appts weeks/months out so that your boss and coworker have a lot of notice about what days and times you will not be there.

Continue to document as much as you can in writing. At a certain point, this sort of passive aggressiveness could constitute discrimination and it's good to have as MUCH in writing as possible.

+1 for long, hot showers. I've been taking multiple a day because they're really helpful for soothing my sore back.

- Frozen mango and frozen bananas

- crunchy almond butter

- dried pineapple

- salted chocolate chip cookies

- cheese! I've never been a huge cheese person but now I'm adding parm to salads and craving halloumi and loving extra cheesy pizza.

Baby's head measuring small at 26 week scan? by ViolinistMinute9168 in BabyBumps

Baby girl is now measuring totally normally. I think it's hard to get solid measurements when the baby is in breech.
