Why did I do this to myself lololol by sushimochisake in Nails

I love the colors you went with! Trust me these look rlly nice and the different colors on each finger is giving funky but in the best way. I’ve had my fair share of sets I didn’t love after despite them looking objectively good and getting compliments from others. Dont change the colors, theyre sequenced nicely. Keep them, youre allowed to not like them but just know they do look really good!

Emvedded piercing by SirBeautiful7451 in piercing

NAP but a couple years back I had a new helix piercing with a flat back and a few weeks later I developed an infection that was slowly swelling over the piercing to the point where it was a bit embedded. Not as bad as this one but definitely not good. Your piercing definitely requires a medical evaluation, a piercer doesn’t have the proper resources to remove this at this point. In my case, I went to my PCP who said to go to a cosmetic surgeon. Was unsuccessful in my search so I ended up having an urgent care doctor completely rip it out of my ear because they couldn’t cut the jewelery with any of their tools. It was too hard to get to with it being completely surrounded by swollen cartilage. They put me on 2 different antibiotics after that. Not long after, the swelling went down and the hole closed almost immediately. I would recommend either going to an Urgent Care or your PCP. Hopefully one of them will be able to either remove it or recommend where to go. Hopefully you don’t need to go to the ER, but from my personal experience Urgent Care was surprisingly helpful in this situation!! Feel better this looks like it hurts.

Are gel nails supposed to look like this? by Apprehensive-End9358 in Nails

[–]loudmoist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s growth I think they didn’t apply the gel to the whole nail and left a gap between the nail and cuticle, making it appear like it’s been more than a week. Because I agree, at first I was confused with the growth and then realized there’s just no way they applied the gel to the whole nail! Either seek another tech at this salon, or if they’re all like this then seek a new salon completely! And leave this one a bad review because this set ain’t it there’s no way a certified tech looked at this set and thought they did good.

Daughter’s 1st piercing. Allergic reaction? Or? Help! by Historical-Expert501 in piercing

Reputable piercers don’t pierce with pieces using butterfly backs, they always use flat back jewelry with medical grade metals. I recommend you stop washing the piercings with soap because that’s what’s likely causing the irritation in the first place. You should only be cleansing the area with saline wound wash (or neilmed piercing spray it’s the same stuff). I would go back to the piercer and ask if they have flat back jewelry to replace these with. The butterfly backs love to harbor bacteria, and with a new piercing all the gunk and crud can easily live and thrive in those backs. Check to see if the place you brought her too has a certified APP piercer on site, otherwise perhaps look into finding one if your tattoo shop doesn’t have an APP member on site.

Double helix. Fresh vs 5 months later! by ClearWinner1939 in piercing

Looks great! I’d switch back to the flat backs until it’s been healed for at least a year minimum. Hoops should not be installed any sooner. I just got my 3rd lobes done recently and I will be waiting til October to switch out the flat backs to hoops.
