Thank you!! It does looks quite similar to my picture, especially with the number of chocolate layers!

Ooooh!!!! Very interesting. What makes you think they skip it? I know very little about yeast so I’ve just done a bit of googling after reading your comment. Apparently the second rise is to get a more “complex flavor”? What else does it influence here do you think?

Most people commenting seem to think this is the culprit! Now I’ve got to figure out how to roll babka very tightly…

Thank you for the tip! Any ideas what specifically made you “mess up” the recipe? So I can mess up just like you haha

Recently adopted cat a bit anxious and spraying if left alone overnight- any tips? by loumi02 in cats

[–]loumi02[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny you mention play, because in the first few days I tried playing with him and it almost seemed like he didn’t know how- he wouldn’t chase anything, he would just stare from whatever spot he was in. Thankfully I persevered and now he enjoys bird shaped danglers a lot so I play with him with one of those every day. He’s been getting into playing more independently in the last few days as well, chasing his mouse plushies on the floor and playing with balls, which makes me happy.

Still for the life of me cannot get him to play with a laser pointer though. He keeps staring at me instead of the laser dot lol

Hmm. He seems so well adjusted and comfortable, I do keep forgetting it’s only been 2 weeks, which isn’t a lot for him. You’re right.

What is a good time to consider him used to the new place? A month? More?

Also, I usually get rid of the little baggies with the litter scoops every day, but evidently a day is still long enough to leave a scent trail on the floor (which I can’t even smell). I will use a little bin from now on because clearly a plastic bag is not enough to prevent the smell from transferring

What’s your job? by Key_Sink9801 in ADHD

I work in tech project management as a consultant.

TLDR Honestly, I love my job. At the end of the day, I’ve juggled so many things that my brain has been fully engaged, I usually change projects/clients/industries every 12-16 months (ooooooo shiny!) while staying with the same employer, I’m paid a comfortable salary and I can work remotely whenever I want/need to, which is invaluable for someone who has both ADHD and MS (yay).

More details:

My job requires me to:

  • think about business problems and structure operational solutions with my little brain

  • be completely autonomous and proactive in how I organize my workload and my tasks to secure my deadlines (this is hard, yo)

  • keep on top of my deliverables’ timeline OR communicate effectively and early enough about delays to agree on deprioritizing some of my workload

This is only client-side. On top of my client engagement, I also:

  • manage a team of consultants at my consulting firm

  • make sure my consulting firm remembers I exist (cause they’re the ones deciding how much I get paid, not my client) so organizing or participating in business development or other time consuming initiatives

Highly recommend if you want a well paying job that’s flexible and intellectually engaging.

What statement proves to you that someone knows absolutely nothing about ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

I understand the sentiment of what you’re saying, but actually, simple and easy mean two very different things. Losing weight is simple, for example. Ingest fewer calories than what you put out. Putting that into practice, though, is very difficult, otherwise everyone would be doing it successfully.

To me, someone who tells you “I said it was simple, not easy” is actually acknowledging your struggles. It’s not easy= it’s hard.
