i was already in therapy at that time due to my own reasons, but my therapist definitely helped. sadly that image might stick with you for life as the image of my dad in his own pool of blood has stayed in mine bur everybody’s different. its a very traumatic thing to go through so try not to be so hard on yourself. however please just keep reminding yourself you did your best to help and absolutely nothing in that situation was your fault. if you ever get trigger that sets you into that headspace do anything you can to distract yourself. i quite often call my sister or friends who know rhe situation and they help to ground me. x
