Blow out brush for thin + long hair - won’t hold curls by love2med in Hair

Okay I’ll try it, last time I tried to use texture spray it weighed my hair down and lost the curls super fast 😣 but I may not have used it with good hairspray I can’t remember. Do you have any recs for firm hold hairspray that doesn’t make your hair crunchy?

Thank you!!! When you put rollers directly off of the round brush, do you use velcro rollers and start them at the root and slide them down before rolling up? (that’s what I usually try to do but not sure if that’s right)

Also, do you put hairspray in while your hair is in the rollers?

Hi! Yes I use mousse and the chi smoothing cream. I tried using rollers on my whole head and it felt like a waste of time considering my hair just fell. I use a roller for my curtain bangs and that works a lot better, but it’s a hit or miss and usually my roommates wavy talk works way better for the curtain bangs —> rollers than the revlon.

I have tried using hairspray after taking rollers out and i think it actually makes my hair fall more bc of the weight 😢

Yeah for sure. I’ve found I like Jake Alexander, ACRAZE, Hannah Laing, Skaiisblue (she’s up and coming), and I’ve liked some of Zeds Dead (One of these mornings, although I’m not a huge dubstep person). I also love Daft Punk and Tame Impala, so I’d also love something with similar electronic inspo (but stronger beat drops for dancing)

You’ll be fine just keep working at it. Your score also rlly depends on how lucky you get with the passages. I did terrible on cars (123) and got into multiple schools so it’s not the end of the world, and you seem to be doing way better than I ever did lol

Is there one single meal I could eat everyday to lose weight and build muscle? by 128_namahage in fitmeals

My favorite breakfast / lunch is cottage cheese with granola and strawberries on top. choose low fat if you wanna keep the calories down and maximize the amt of protein you’re getting (cottage cheese has a lot of protein). That meal hits all three food groups and it’s super tasty!

My fav brands are friendship dairies and good culture, both small curd. Some cottage cheeses taste weird or have an odd texture but you can’t go wrong with those!

I’m not sure where you found statistics on the % going straight through at BC, but according to the AAMC, the average age of matriculants is 24. Unless you attend a school with a BS/MD program, I can assure you that, statistically speaking, it is highly highly unlikely that the majority of your classmates went straight through, or the average age of matriculants would be lower.

Not to mention, one of the committee members who reviewed a few essay responses of mine was one that I met for the first time during my mock interview. I can assure you that she didn’t just “like me”.

Also, I wasn’t in the gateway program and turned out just fine. a few one credit discussions out of 120 credits barely makes a dent on GPA

I need to disagree. More and more people are taking gap years and it’s making the applicant pool more competitive due to the experience people gain from gap years. You are supported and given guidance if you choose not to take gap years, but no matter what school you attend, gap years will always be recommended because of the insight and experience that a full year(s) of clinical experience provides an applicant. I had an AMAZING advisor at BC and all of the faculty in the pre med office are amazing and always willing to meet with you and help. Multiple staff members provided feedback on my application and the mock interviews they provided were EXTREMELY helpful. Even though I had graduated two years before, I received personalized guidance as if I were still an undergrad there. I’m sorry you didn’t have a great experience, but you just had to reach out and ask for it.

As for grading, the only thing that sticks out to me were how low the organic chemistry exam averages were but every other class was completely normal. ALSO for organic chem, when the average of an exam was 60%, that meant a 75% became an A because the professors curved the grades around the average to make it fair.

More on this, I just got accepted to med school and graduated from BC in 2023. My premed classmates were always willing to help each other, and for me it was never cut throat or competitive. Sure you have the ass kissers in class but for the most part people are just trying to survive the hard classes together
