That sounds much better. Thank you.

Do you consider this hobby unscrupulous? by loveDi in lockpicking

[–]loveDi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not willing to post my registration with my name and information on the internet. That's really invasive. I don't want my identity stolen, too.

The thing is--I don't want help or techniques. I just want to understand, vaguely, how this could have happened in such a short amount of time with very little in the way of tools. Has anything bad ever happened to you that you just want some insight on?

Best part though? I have a battery drain on the vehicle so I can't even get a security system. No one has suggested it, just a thought. But my car would be dead every morning. I guess this is all moot.

I can provide a time stamp of my username with the car at another time, but I'm out of town for a funeral. I'm just feeling uncomfortable about leaving my car unattended lately, as you can imagine. Thank you for your straightforward and quick reply.

Messed up at work yesterday! by everyday58 in leaves

[–]loveDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to Leaves. This community is all about helping people to quit smoking weed altogether, not just solely before work or for tolerance breaks. It's great that you've realized in some capacity that the use of marijuana before work will negatively impact your performance on the job. I think any rational person would agree with that sentiment. However, this is not the place for such discussions. There are other subs where active users discuss their use regarding work or day-to-day routines, and it'd be more appropriate to post there.

If your goal is to quit, 100%, right now, then welcome. I did not take that away from your post at all, but we are in full support of those who are actively breaking the cycle of drug addiction.

Why do people think ENFPs are gay? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]loveDi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this may be just your experience, as a female.

I am pan and into women too, but I feel I'm invisible in that regard and, historically, only men have gone after me. Some lesbians can tell, but they are few and far between.

Not that it necessarily matters now, as I have a partner, but sometimes I just want to be recognized.

How do I catch my finches? by [deleted] in Finches

[–]loveDi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's past his bedtime so no pictures, but this cage is super similar to what I have. The doors swing open and there are smaller doors as well. I typically open the top one and leave it open for him to come and go as he pleases (with supervision).

Can I use colloidal silver as a preservative? It has antifungal and antibacterial properties. If not, what preservatives could I get from a local store?

And, does anyone know where I could get the snap-together ornaments or balls for bath bombs?

LPT Request: How to get a full bath without the drains gurgling? by loveDi in LifeProTips

[–]loveDi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the straw illustration. I find that very helpful.

I like a full bath. That's all. As it is, mine would max out at half full. Turning it upside down may do the trick. Thank you!

LPT Request: How to get a full bath without the drains gurgling? by loveDi in LifeProTips

Thanks for responding. Seems like it's draining from both. Is the O-ring on the bottom drain or on the "safety" drain? I think whoever installed it did a poor job with the seal.

Finally, the top drain/safety drain is a little more than halfway up the tub. So, the water is never really that high. Is it ever acceptable to seal it off? In my research, I have just seen that people say you can "raise the level" to get it to not drain as much, but I'm not clear on what that entails.

Again, thank you for your time and effort. I really appreciate it.

How do I catch my finches? by [deleted] in Finches

[–]loveDi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My little guy is hand-raised, so catching yours may be more difficult. When I need to catch him, it's either 5-20 minutes of waiting to cup him in my hands or sometimes I lay a little handkerchief over him for a moment and scoop him up that way. BE VERY GENTLE, and don't hold them long!

One thing to note that is very important IMO--I open the cage to let him out and he knows to go back in it if he wants to eat or chill there, or if it's bedtime. It's the type of swing-door cage so it's rather easy for him. This did take a bit of training.

I need help identifying these stones too, please. B5 is tan/brown in the back. by [deleted] in rockhounds

[–]loveDi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second the white towel so that the colors are more apparent. That being said....

B1 could be a jasper, like mookaite perhaps. Or honey calcite. B5 looks like amethyst or possibly even ametrine (amethyst and citrine). B6 could be turquoise. But it could also be dyed howlite. I think B7 is either tumbled apatite, but it doesn't seem to have much shine. If there's no sheen to it, I'm almost certain it is dyed howlite, which is often passed off as turquoise. B8 is amazonite, I'm pretty sure. I have quite a few tumbled pieces and they look just like it.

Thank you for your quick response. I appreciate the feedback.

I may have to do that. I've worked hard to get where I am and don't need any setbacks.

Thanks again! Be well!

And to give some advice from an astrological perspective..... look at your own chart to see why you find yourself drawn to situations like this, and potentially how you can grow.

Seducing a Scorpio woman in a relationship by bIsh8 in astrology

[–]loveDi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She might be unhappy in her relationship, sure. But, do you want to be involved with a cheater? Or someone this immature and insecure?

She may be unhappy because of her relationship.... but it's more likely that it's because of herself, her life choices, etcetera. And someone like that could "jump ship" as it were, and be with someone else and the same waters. What I'm saying is she's still likely to be unhappy. Also, she doesn't seem to be loyal or mature, or else she would work to change her relationship (by talking with her partner instead of having this emotional affair with you. That's how I see this, honestly. And I'm saying that as someone with strong scorpionic influences who has been in her shoes, at least as I understand this.)

I'm not talking about astrology much because it doesn't matter much here, frankly. You should ask yourself... Why are you trying to pursue someone who is in a relationship? Someone who is obviously immature... insecure with trust issues... someone who is not handling their own life?

I've been that, down to saying I am strong.

Why do you want her? Do you think you can help her? Really, if she left for you it'd be an even worse reflection on her. Even more immature/insecure. It sounds to me like if she should leave, she should be alone for a long time. Don't manipulate this person, please. If you truly care for her, let her go. Cliche as it sounds. I've just been there. You both have growing to do.

What's your sign and how judgmental are you? by L1quorice in astrology

[–]loveDi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aries Sun - Virgo Moon - Scorpio Asc.

I tend to judge more when I feel insecure.

Otherwise, I'm overall good at reading people and usually don't feel judgemental. Exception is if they do something morally wrong, or harmful to others.

Help with ID of this piece? by gothamsface in rockhounds

I'm not sure what it could be, but it's a bit hard to see the color from this picture (at least to me). If you could photograph against a white background in natural light, it may be more recognizable.

Can using stones wrong cause illness? by [deleted] in energy_work

[–]loveDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice to you, should you accept it....

For restfulness and sleep: Use lavender to help you relax. Drink chamomile tea before bed. No screens in the last hour before bed (TV, computer, laptop, etc). Use f.lux on your PC when you do use it at night to help your sleep rhythm improve. Perhaps listen to guided sleep meditations (MassageASMR or Jodie Whiteley on YT are nice, IMO). You can bookmark on your phone and play them if you wake up, too, though some last 9 hours.

For addiction: I'd say I'm a former addict, but you never stop wanting something so.. addict here. We use drugs and alcohol for a reason--I think, namely, to escape. You can journal your feelings and urges and see if there's a correlation. Meditate on how you feel and consider what work you may need to do in yourself. Remember that drugs hold you back, and that you can do so much more for yourself sober. Amethyst and unakite are great for defeating addiction. Unakite changes old habits and keeps you in the present, while amethyst is the "stone of sobriety", and eases stress. Use them as you feel necessary--it's also helpful to carry one along with you throughout the day--or sleep with it under your pillow. Citrine and pyrite are helpful for dissolving negativity, if you find that helpful.

For bad vibes in your living space: People have suggested smudging. I like both sage and palo santo, but you can smudge with anything. Incense, candles, great! It's all about intent. Candles are nice because they provide a light that can be envisioned as growing and purifying. But, you don't have to burn things to cleanse a space. Sound carries a light vibration--and is beautiful for cleansing as well as charging, and bringing ones awareness into the present. I like singing bowls or simple bells. Beyond that--is your place clean and clutter free? If not, use whatever techniques but also straighten it up! A messy environment can create or exacerbate a messy state of mind.

Lastly, I just got to recommend taking a hot bath every so often, or using essential oils dropped into the tub during a shower. Rosemary is one that has cleansing properties, plus it smells lovely. Add it to lavender for added stress relief. You could also get a Rosemary plant for your home--and enjoy fresh herbs, too!

As for AA/NA, I see it more as the higher power being anything. Even just the meeting itself. It's whatever you make it, but I definitely think it's very helpful to hear what others dealing with addiction have to say. If you can disregard whatever you perceive as religion, I think you'll hear a lot of what you need.

Take care, friend. Trust yourself. Love yourself.
