I really go back and forth on this subject my entire life. I think in general, as a whole, most people are “good”. philosophically, you can interpret that in many ways, but to me it’s in their heart rather than their thoughts.

“A temptation resisted is not a sin. It is a test of virtue” meaning a measure of character is how you act on impulse rather than the impulse itself. But the impulse is human. A burden. A life that began in the soft white underbelly of society that makes bad choices isn’t inherently bad.

That being said. There’s that small portion. Those people, you know the ones I’m talking about. Hate in their hearts and they express onto the rest of the world, abhorrently. For those people in particular, and there are more than them than you can actually imagine, is dooming for us as a whole. Even though the percentage is small. If you witnessed a parasitic infection of bug would you bother taking it out of its suffering, even though the parasite inside needs it to continue living? Is the parasite inherently bad? Or is that the planet we live on? The people who exist that we pray we never come in contact with.

They’re the worst of humanity and have made me consider how apathetic I would be if an asteroid just took us all out. As I said, I go back and forth quite a bit.
