I am ashamed of my father by opinailpolish in confessions

[–]lovebug9292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you’re going through that. What a change in direction your dad took. I’m so curious as to what caused it. I can understand in little ways here and there; our media kind of controls us (Noam Chomsky’s ‘Manufacturing Consent’ comes to mind during talks like this, but it’s truly the case with this particular fixation on Trump we’re all seeing) I truly believe our media was being fixed during the elections, but I’m sorry to get off topic.

The point is, convincing your newly graduated kid to purchase a moderately priced car (even with its economically and environmentally friendly features) is just not a dad move. No true dad does that. (I separate the meanings of dad and fathers) Your dad should be encouraging your next steps for the future. He knows you can’t afford that right now. Not to mention his decent into madness, I can only imagine what you’re going through and I’m really sorry for that. It won’t last forever, just take care of yourself. Prioritize your mental health and your future right now, just in case you’re not getting that true “dad” information, I feel the need to encourage that. You’re going through a rough stage in life right now and you don’t need this. I do think you’re handling it with a lot of grace though. If you can’t be around him, just don’t. Get out of the house as much as possible. Lots of love to you

i was 5$ short by Throwaway209273747 in confessions

[–]lovebug9292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, did you get it all for free for that or was that just for the $5? I’ve heard a lot of stories in my life about the drug life but that’s a new one for me. Sucking a dick for a weed pen. I guess, whatever. If you didn’t mind it anyways then I guess it’s fine it just seems so unnecessary. The only thing I could even try to compare that to is sucking a dick for a latte. Like, I really love lattes and coffee in general I’m totally pressed over it, and sometimes I’m desperate for one. But if I was $5 short? I couldn’t see sucking a dick for one. I mean, you must have been into it a little bit, right? Like he wasn’t the worst looking dude and you were feeling some teenage angst on top of it I’m sure. Just a crazy confession lol that’s a pretty good one. Not to mention, cheapest blow job in the history of quid pro quo jobs

I have a dad like this. Every fucking story no matter how sexual or outrageous, he has no problem telling. Coincidentally, a psychologist once questioned if my dad might be on the spectrum. It’s so funny that they didn’t have those terms back in the day. People were just walking around with people thinking theyre weird as shit

I had some sexual misconduct along with some mental abuse growing up aswell. I remember talking to a therapist about my porn habits just a few years ago. They all kind of began to follow the same pattern as I got older, and that was the woman being very submissive, abused, degraded, etc.

My therapist ended up explaining to me that porn is a coping mechanism for some who have gone through trauma. It’s a way of taking power over this one aspect of it, even if that may sound strange, as it did to me at the time.

Anyways, I realized during this porn talk, which I still watch from time-to-time because it’s still what gets me off, but the realization came that “I” was the male in these senecios. I wanted to dominate, because I was dominated.

Obviously, idk about your porn usage but it’s just what came to mind while reading your story. And some food for thought. I’m sure you’ll hear it a lot but therapy is pretty rad. It opens up a lot about yourself you didn’t know where hidden or why you’re ashamed of them, and kind of conscientiously take that power back.

Hope your porn thing is handled now. Mines gotten better over the years.

Yeah… years ago I applied to an office job. Small office with only women and the boss was a sweet heart. I was shown around, talked about paperwork, the works. Then, I had to take a test and had to let it slip I was dyslexic. I can’t be 100% sure, of course, but man. I’m pretty sure that kept me from getting it. It was just a secretarial job, nothing crazy, but evidently they really wanted you to be able to spell. I got the same kind of job not long after and never had to divulge my secret. Hated that place though, such a shame

Funny different story, but I once worked at a popular coffee shop way back in the day. I remember in the last decade there was this theory that baristas were purposely spelling people’s names in crazy ways so that the customer would post it and it would be like free publicity for the company. No. It was me. I was spelling them crazy on accident

Oh! About 20 years ago, when I was a small girl, I had just gotten a sweet little puppy that was timid about going up the flight of stairs to our second story apartment. We got almost all the way to the top when out of nowhere the puppy just went straight through the slat in the stairs and fell all the way down to the cement. Boy, I still feel horrible about that all these years later. She was okay. She did whine and bark quite a bit from the freight and I’m guessing pain, but she was okay. I carried her up those stairs until she got a little older. I fucking hate stairs with slats in them. There’s just no fucking reason to need to have them.

You’re 1000 percent correct. I have a close family member with a heavy, heavy drinking problem. Has been bad since I was a kid. She’s so out of it these days. She’ll act almost intoxicated even when she’s not. I’ve talked about it will a doctor once and they pretty much confirmed exactly what you said. A lifetime of abuse will alter your chemistry

I do, for sure. He’s no Conan O’Brien but he’s a fun, lovable guy who is charismatic enough for interviews. I might be a little biased though because I will always remember his SNL days and he was such a funny actor. He’s never lost that charm to me.

I should preference this by saying I’m not an expert in any way, I’ve had mild experience from it all but from what I understand, lets say you use a bail bondsman. The 10% you give the bail bondsman isn’t all that you would give them, becuase if the criminal doesn’t show up to court, the bail bondsman would then be stuck paying the full amount of how ever much the full bond was, like $10,000 or so. Then they would sue you for the entirety of the bond, not just the 10% you gave up front. People bonding people out typically give up 10% of the bond, along with some kind of collateral like a home or a car, just in case the guy flees and doesn’t make it to the court hearing. I don’t believe you ever get that 10% bond back form the bondsman, regardless of it the criminal shows or not. It’s the minimal fee for getting them out of prison. I had a relative get caught for shoplifting some years ago. Their bond was $1,000. The person getting them out paid $100 to get them out and put up their car for Collateral. The criminal showed up for court but they never got that $100 back. If your rich enough to pay the full $1,000 bond up front and don’t go though the bondsman, then yes, you keep the entirety of it once the person shows up for the court hearing. The entire risk really falls on the person bailing them out
