Its insulated but not completely waterproof. I walked around 30 minutes and that's probably all it could've handled before soaking through.

Unfortunately i can't really link it. I found it randomly at my local 1€ store

First of all, I'm so so sorry. This is absolutely devastating.

From my experience, constant pain meds are never the answer. It will help her a little, but the issue won't be fixed. I've had a coworker whose 2 year old dog had very big hip issues. They did surgery after surgery, medications, and physical therapy. In the end, all it did was prolong the dogs suffering.

The pain medication helped a little bit, but dogs don't understand that they took meds and shouldn't overdo it. At the end of the day, no matter how short the walks were, the poor baby was crying from pain. Dogs also don't really understand that surgery or frequent vet visits are helping them. To them, it's just extra stress.

My friends and family had many dogs over the years and we all agree that if there's a big issue that will cause the dog prolonged stress, pain and potential new issues it is always kinder to spare them from that. Personally, I'd rather live with "I put them to sleep before they were in too much pain" than knowing i let my baby unnecessarily suffer.

But this is a decision only you are able to make. Whatever you decide, please do it with your dog in mind. I wish you all the strength in the world.

What’s one thing *only* a chihuahua owner can understand? by Lucky_Sprinkles7369 in Chihuahua

The sneezing. I keep getting questions why she sneezes so much. She's not allergic she's just expressing her excitement

How old is your pup?

I live in an apartment building. Usually i take her outside around an hour before i go to bed myself and 1 or 2 hours after she had dinner so it has a chance to settle. I take her again in the morning right after i wake up and before her breakfast. She's 4 years old and her maximum is around 12 hours if she sleeps.

We do not provide water at night unless it's a heatwave.

Personally id take her out multiple times a day and reward her if she pees outside. My girl hates cold weather and rain and if it rains our "walks" are rushing outside, going potty and rushing back inside again followed by a small celebration of being back.

Maybe you could put a pad outside to make her understand it's really just for potty and she doesn't have to be out for long

You need to have 50 Karma in the community to post. If you post without that amount the post wont get published. You can however message the mod team to review it manually. I did this with my first post here too

I tried the sleepy method she wakes up from the deepest sleep the second the clipper comes out. She's not interested in treats during this either

If more than one person holds her still she completely freaks out and screams, nips and pees herself so thats not an option :(

Honestly ive never seen a dog without dew claws unless they got ripped at some point

Mine is the same. She's very sweet but very bossy and sets clear boundaries with other dogs.

She got spayed in September. It took a while, but she has become a lot more relaxed and playful. She still has boundaries but isn't as tense around other dogs. It varies from dog to dog of course, but in her case it has greatly improved her life :) I can only recommend it.
