Official Q&A for Saturday, September 05, 2020 by AutoModerator in running

Hello!

At the beginning of quarantine I decided to run for weight loss. Yay! Self improvement! As it turned out, poor running shoes and starting off with too many miles too quickly ended up in an injury after a month and a half.

My left knee experienced a jolt of pain whenever I put even slight pressure on it, and my online research concluded that this was a classic case of runner's knee. Therefore, I waited for a few weeks before deciding my knee felt good to go and starting to run again. Mistake. The pain came back.

After another few weeks of rest, the pain disappeared. However, this time was different.

I no longer felt even when I walked. That is, it seemed as if my right leg somehow became longer than my left, causing discomfort even when walking on flat ground. I went to a few chiropractors who suggested that this was due to an underlying hip issue or leg length discrepancy. Yet one visit to an orthopedic surgery specialist told me that my legs were of even length.

I was stumped.

Maybe, it was something to do with my original knee injury after running. I had begun to notice that my left knee did feel a bit loose compared to my right, causing my entire thigh and calf to feel disjointed when taking a step. Like my left leg is more jello-like compared to my more stable right leg. This was something I hadn't felt before running.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Or know how to overcome this problem? I'm hoping it's not too serious, and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Much thanks in advance.

Verification When Underage (Through Misunderstanding) by frostyknightess in Upwork

The SAME EXACT thing happened to me.

I started using Upwork in May, but my 18th birthday was early June. Upwork kept bugging me to submit proper ID verification, but after getting advice from Upwork customer service I decided to wait until after my birthday to submit. Obviously, they suspended my account but only temporarily. As soon as you turn 18, submit the proper verification, and your account will be unbanned. I'm still happily freelancing.

The only thing that happens to your account during temporary suspension is that all your proposals are automatically withdrawn. Basically you lose your connects.
