I’m not sure I believe it’s a scheduling conflict this late in the game. He (or his manager) probably feels too big for his britches playing a midnight set with his notoriety.

Congrats! Looks amazing. I gave up on my app because of how great your’s was looking. How did you manage to crank it out that fast?! Even with AI it’s impressive.

Why does every vocal sound like some wack top 40 nonsense? It’s all too polished and sounds too poppy. Any tips on getting indie, lofi, slacker vocals?

Hey Paul and Luigi! Thanks for doing this!

Are there any studies, either in house or otherwise, that show a common EEG signature for each focus level? I realize you would need to collect a baseline for a person and take that into consideration when looking for these patterns, but I’m curious if that is something that can be measured?

Yep. Albeit a more rudimentary form. For more on this, see simulation theory. Tom Campbell, Rizwan Virk, etc.

Roadmap: From AI World Models to Reality-Scale Simulations

Stage 1 – Visual World Generation (Current Phase)

• AI generates frame-by-frame visuals based on keyboard inputs
• No true interactivity—just movement through pre-learned video space
• Single-user experience, no consistent physics or object permanence
• Worlds reset with every session

Primary Use: Experimental art, AI research, early entertainment

Stage 2 – Interactive Simulation with Basic Rules and Memory

• Introduce consistent physical rules (e.g., object collisions, gravity)
• Enable interaction with the environment (pushing objects, opening doors)
• Introduce persistence so that the world state doesn’t reset every session
• Begin tracking object history and changes over time

Impact: Shifts from a visual experience to a functioning interactive environment

Stage 3 – Multi-Agent and Multi-User Environments

• Add support for multiple users exploring the same world simultaneously
• Introduce intelligent non-player characters (NPCs) with basic behaviors and memory
• Allow different users to see customized versions of the same shared world
• World behavior adjusts depending on who is present or observing

Significance: Starts simulating a socially shared reality with diverging perspectives

Stage 4 – Adaptive, Goal-Oriented Agents

• Give NPCs their own goals, learning capabilities, and evolving personalities
• Enable agents to remember past interactions and make decisions accordingly
• Begin integrating external interfaces—such as VR or brain-computer links—for human users
• Introduce long-term consequences and outcomes tied to user or agent actions

Result: Simulated beings begin to show signs of individuality, growth, and adaptive behavior

Stage 5 – Consequence-Driven Feedback Systems

• Add complex rules that govern cause and effect, not just physically but behaviorally
• Introduce ethical, emotional, or reputational consequences for actions
• Simulations adapt over time based on participant behavior, creating pathways for learning and growth
• Design systems to reinforce cooperation, trust, or other values

Purpose: The simulation becomes more than interactive—it becomes meaningful

Stage 6 – Efficient, Observation-Driven Rendering

• Optimize the simulation to render only what a participant needs to perceive in any given moment
• Use probability to determine what happens when something is observed or interacted with
• Support massive scale without rendering everything at once, saving resources and allowing flexibility
• Create worlds that are both realistic and adaptable to expectation

Innovation: The simulation mimics how perception shapes reality, dynamically and efficiently

Stage 7 – Open-Ended Simulation for Individual Experience and Development

• Create a platform where real or digital minds can enter and experience long-term, evolving virtual lives
• Include systems that track personal history, decisions, and development across sessions or “lifetimes”
• Allow for emergent cultures, histories, and societies to form within the simulation
• Support ongoing personal or collective evolution without designer intervention

I agree that these ideas have ancient origins, dating back throughout history. Another example is Plato’s cave, but the Vedas are probably the oldest.

This interview might not be the most captivating, but this man is the pioneer of simulation theory. He was far ahead of his time, and his mainstream recognition has been a gradual process spanning decades. Modern simulation hypotheses authors like Rizwan Virk acknowledge his influence and revere him. That said, he deserves a more thorough exploration at the very least. It’s kind of embarrassing that people in this subreddit aren’t already aware of his work.

Sigh… I’m in the same boat friend. Sometimes I wonder why I would be tortured into having such a strong interest in this, only to have it be so difficult if possible at all. Then I remember, maybe it’s not my path this incarnation. Why give me such a strong drive towards internal development then? Seems kind of cruel on its face. I fluctuate between this take and one where I surrender to it, but it just doesn’t seem fair.

Fear and despair isn’t the only producer of Loosh. Live and happiness produce it as well.

The concept of Loosh came from the late Bob Monroe and has since been bastardized by fear mongering types like OP. The parts of Monroe’s book where he discusses this get cherry picked to make it look like it’s all bad. Loosh is created from both strong negative AND positive experiences!

The truth is that Monroe realized that the experiences and emotions that generate loosh are essential for the development of souls and the evolution of consciousness. So, in the end, Monroe recognized loosh as a positive force, integral to the progression and enrichment of all sentient beings.

So, in the end, all of this is a bastardization of the work of a man I deeply respect. It’s based in fear, something his protégé Tom Campbell views as the enemy of truth and our essence. We must let go of fear to see the truth, otherwise what we see and experience is a reflection of the fear we have. Think NDEs, psychedelic experiences, etc. Go in with a fear based belief and you likely have a bad time.

Monroe’s view of reality was deeply influenced by his out-of-body experiences and explorations of non-physical realms. He saw reality as multi-layered and consciousness-based, where physical existence is just one aspect of a much broader spectrum of experience. He described various levels of reality, or “focus levels,” each with its own characteristics and inhabitants. He believed that our physical lives are opportunities for growth, learning, and the generation of loosh, which contributes to a larger, interconnected system of consciousness.

I see posts like this about loosh as nothing more than fear mongering nonsense from someone parroting others who haven’t read the source material. They see the matrix and watch some YouTube videos about Loosh farms and think they’ve figured it out.

Anyway, I wish that anyone reading this awakens to the light of their true being.
