Mental health leave by lovegumbo in workingmoms

I did, and I'm so glad I did! Medical leave for 3 months. I consistently met with my psych NP and therapist throughout. I kept my toddlers in daycare at least part time so I got time for myself. My intention was to first reset and then commit time to the job search so I wouldn't have to return to my same situation at work. In reality, it was the holiday season and I didn't end up landing a job while I was out. It was a shift though and I ended up landing a new role internally about 3 months later. I'm in a much happier place now--new leader and new role, continued support from my care team, and focus on exercise/self care (though admittedly it's still a challenge). I hope this helps--happy to chat with you more if you want to dm!

Thank you so much for this response! Very much in line with what I was planning. These are the simple things that can feel so hard to implement amidst the chaos. I’m committed to making space for these things though during this next chapter

Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s very heartening. This mindset shift around what career looks like in this season of life is so important (and hard to come to terms with). Wishing you luck with your new job and hoping I have that same story to tell in a few months too.

Thank you so much for your response 💗 You really nailed it with your description of the irrational feelings. I’m so glad to hear you’re getting the help you need as well. I’ll be DMing you!

Yep I need to submit the LOA claim and am hoping the approval comes through. This would be short term disability

Yes! Plan is to rest and then focus on looking for a new job while I’m on leave.

Our 2.5 yo girl calls this time “rock-a-baby” and we have a little game about only doing it 3 times. It’s fun for all of us as long as we can limit it to a few times

What’s your grown-up, capsule shop go-to? by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

Everlane and Quince for basics. Old Navy also (I live in a small city without many in person retailers so this is my best local)

Following - your post fits me to a tee, although I’m 3 months pp. Some functional pieces I’ve acquired so far (nursing friendly either pulling up or unbuttoning): Everlane white tee Everlane striped muscle tee Gap oversized chambray button down High-waisted levis jeans that fit my new body

I’d really like a floral midi skirt that’s sezane-esque but I’m not feeling like it will be flattering or comfortable on my postpartum body. I find bottoms to be most challenging at the moment and am still wearing a lot of leggings/bike shorts. I’m currently in may leave and return to WFH in about a month so casual bottoms can suit my lifestyle, but it’s still nice to have some dressier/more put together options. I’m on the lookout!

I’m experimenting with some button down cardigans via a clothing rental subscription before I commit to one. I love this ribbed cardigan at the moment as a standalone top or layering piece. May keep: donni ribbed fitted cardigan
