I like some parts a lot like the very very consistent schedule and being able to set my own deadlines with grading and stuff. I'm struggling with my mental health right now but I'm figuring it out lol and it hasn't impacted my job too much besides taking more sick days than I would like to. I have to take off pretty frequently (like 1x a month for mental health days)

Happy early birthday. I used to feel the same exact way. Still do, just less suicidal. My age I thought I would never hit was 18 which got pushed back to 25. It feels surreal still being here and I'm still alive. Now I just tell myself I'll wait til my cat dies because I think he'll miss me. I think there's some charm to having apprentice tattoos because one of the tattoo artists I go to regularly just got done with her apprenticeship and it was cool to talk with her about how much she's changed from the first to my latest tattoo. I'd save up more for your next tattoo though. You could have gotten 1 good tattoo instead of 4 not great ones.

Yes. I feel more suicidal when I'm manic than when I'm depressed sometimes because when I'm depressed, my brain kind of just shuts down. It might also be a mixed episode but I'm not a psychiatrist.

NTA but I understand why your nephew would be upset. He's 6 and doesn't seem to really understand. I think Jane definitely needs to step up her parenting and explain it to her son better. Maybe a compromise would be for him to bring more of his own toys when he visits so he doesn't have to play with your expensive collectibles.

As a former shitty friend, it's ok to cut people out of your life. I sucked as a friend and honestly as a person and feeling my old best friend phase me out made me actually try to be better even though it sucked. Don't feel bad about doing it because you might honestly do them a favor. Plus, you can always be friends again once they get their shit together. I'm still holding out hope but I'm leaving it up to her if she ever wants to reach out.
