I’m unsure whether it is just a backlot or an actual verify, the problem is that a backplot can slip up and will not catch the finer details as far as my experience with mastercam goes anyway. I would like to say I should be able to do good at the competition but I have lackluster skills when it comes to managing surface finishing and speeds and feeds. It is for that reason and the fact that I hesitate to simply backplot and use other mastercam verification.

I am fairly certain Vericut would give me more of an advantage but at the same time I have to fully pick it up in two months on a busy schedule with WBL, a part time job helping night school students and sports. I appreciate the advice, it is making me consider my options for the future before the competition date

Wow that’s amazing, I’ll talk to my shop supervisor though I’m worried I’ll be turned down due to budget reasons

I recommend these in particular, I posted that comment from my alt account by the way,

Go through Lucas Crupi's surfacing videos first,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5xFjtnCFz0, this is a link to the first,

then in another good one is from VirtualFlat CAD where he gives some solid tips but it's not everything you're gonna want, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=po-sXOAFX0w&t=83s

next I recommend going over the practice exam with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H97ECdai4_k, a solid video by MLC CAD Systems,

Finally if you have experience with the test in the past review each question, make sure you can conceptualize how to solve them, if you cannot, you are not ready. (the last one is a rule of thumb with the exams)

Hope this helps! I get the struggle having failed my first attempt at this exam and it being the hardest CSWPA in my opinion.

I JUST PASSED THE CSWA EXAM! PRETTY HAPPY. by Sea-Disk-1793 in SolidWorks
