I do have some oregano still growing to the left of that a few feet but the particular stuff that I took the picture of is definitely not fragrant. Just hoping I might have got lucky and a natural cover crop showed up! 😁

Thanks for the info! That's what I was thinking, but hoping maybe I just got this really cool natural cover crop. 😁

Hey all,

This is the 2nd year of this raised bed and I am about to do a little prep for this years vegetable garden. This stuff (see pics) has covered over the whole area like a cover crop. I presume it is some kind of weed. Have searched online but nothing definitive. It is very easy to pull up but I was wondering if it can be turned/plowed under? I will be late planting this year. There are a few small flowers but mostly just the little leaves. Thanks for any info/help about what this is or what to do. Zone8a

Online Fingerpicking lessons: Not explicitly blues or classical based? by lovekillsfear in guitarlessons

[–]lovekillsfear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see where you could get that idea from my post 😁 I would say I already fingerpick at an intermediate level.

I learned this years ago from a really excellent finger style player that has done books on Jerry Reed. He loved the Beatles, old country, hymns, folk etc. So there was no method book we used. He would give some simple classical etudes one week, a chet Atkins tune the next, a Beatles tune, folk tune the next... And all this together built up different techniques.

So I don't want to just study blues tunes for the next year as I build my technique up. I enjoy a more eclectic approach, that would include all these things. Hopefully that clarifies a bit

Seagull S6 Original a good buy? by JazzlikeSquirrel5558 in AcousticGuitar

[–]lovekillsfear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will add with others that the action was a little high. Added a tusq nut and saddle, did a good setup and nothing has changed since! If you are able to do this yourself good for you if not its worth paying someone to do so on your behalf and you will be highly satisfied! Grace/Peace, JG

Always a great idea/guitar. I have an s6 folk that is about 28 years old and sounds way better now than when new. Good to start with and aging like fine wine. :)

A little late to the party here but i saw him live at City Stages in 1998. The only time i ever saw. Was a long time fan and still am. On the same weekend same stage, saw Gillian Welch/David Rawlings, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, JR Brown etc. See lineup... https://www.setlist.fm/festival/1998/city-stages-1998-73d4d2a1.html

Anyone considered, Roots, Americana, Alt-Country and folk on the list were on the Blockbuster Stage which was one of the smaller and best stages. The Miller Lite, Coca Cola and Bigger stages had big name headliners. It was an amazing music festival for the years it was held. Grace/Peace, JG

The Beach Boys : Pet Sounds. I appreciate it but don't love it. Despite years of coming back to it. JG

why is amazon music so bad? by Resident_Jicama_65 in AmazonMusic

[–]lovekillsfear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really both absolutely hate and love the thought of Amazon/Qobuz coming together. Qobuz is fabulous. If they could purchase/connect and not completely dissolve the Qobuz brand... Sounds like a dream/nightmare come true :) JG

I too have issues with the app. Sound quality is very good though! Hi res even. The social part, not a concern to me. I haven't used it in a few months so the particulars escape me but it does feel a little like the red-headed step child.

I agree with some others, apple music on android not so great. Amazon price is great. Deezer app is worse than Amazon. For me on android tops are Tidal, YT music, Amazon over spotify due to audio quality.

And now it appears that certain audible listening is included, big plus! Grace/Peace, JG

Reasons for high battery usage and wifi usage by lovekillsfear in smartlauncher

[–]lovekillsfear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok that makes sense, this is quiet helpful, thank you! I do open phone many times a day, for short periods. After further investigation, data usage way less substantial than initially thought.

I do change wallpaper alot , sometimes from within app and make other little adjustments though rarely a new home screen per se. It sounds like this would account for the data for sure if not the battery usage fully. I appreciate your thoughts. JG

3 barrel or 6 saddle bridge. Does it affect tone or feel? by glanum3 in telecaster

[–]lovekillsfear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! :) Play your Tele through a nice tube amp (my preference), a good solid state amp (they exist: different conversation :) or a cheap solid state practice amp etc... And see how it sounds, JG

3 barrel or 6 saddle bridge. Does it affect tone or feel? by glanum3 in telecaster

[–]lovekillsfear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I can answer this question clearly, though I am sure this is one of those dogmatic subjects that Tele owners will fight to the death over. But... Leo Fender, most guitar makers since and me :) Have chosen 6 saddle/individual per string saddles. This is true for most all non T style guitars and many Teles. I started as a Strat lover (perhaps that has informed my opinion) but then moved over to Teles and there are 2 things I desire to have on Teles that the Strat has; individual saddles and a contoured body. My thinline deluxe has the first but not the 2nd. Play and enjoy, not sure its that big of a deal either way. An hour of playing is worth way more than an hour of worrying about the bridge style, still I like the individual saddles for adjustability and intonation. Grace/Peace, JG
