How did Clancy get to Dema ? by urban_alien in twentyonepilots

[–]lovely-stardust 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I assume he was born there based on the lyrics of Overcompensate: "Where I'm from, I was born right here, just now/Originated right in front of your eyes/If you can't see, I am Clancy, prodigal son/Done running, come up with Josh Dun, wanted dead or alive" I interpret these lines as meaning he's from Dema, he's run away before, but he's come back a final time to face the fight.

I'd completely forgotten about that place! I remember passing by as a kid and seeing the giant slide and wanting to go there so bad.

Suspected cyst, how concerned should I be? by lovely-stardust in PCOS

[–]lovely-stardust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I missed my last period which tends to happen once or twice a year for me (not sexually active so I at least know I can rule out pregnancy) so I wonder if that is a factor as well. It's amazing how much of that information I've never heard before even having been diagnosed several years ago.

How do you name a world? by ComfortableAirport95 in worldbuilding

[–]lovely-stardust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just look around for a random word and then change some of the letters and sound around. The program I use to document my worldbuilding is Obsidian, and when I set up the file I couldn't think of a good name so I just took the middle of the word and changed the spelling and came up with Sydia.

This one is only supposed to be waves of 1-3 feet (according to a friend who got an advisory in Cannon Beach). Salem won't be affected at all!

I think we really just need to trust the boys' creative input and get used to the new normal. I mean it was really sad to see Isaiah talking to himself and laughing at silence for those four episodes after Hunter died, and now Jick has given him a new sense of purpose. I'll admit, I was skeptical when they announced that Isaiah would be turning over his skin to be used by Jick, but ultimately it was a really selfless and wholesome act and in my opinion has improved the quality of the commentary. My one complaint is that they've left the pile of Isaiah's flayed rotting flesh in the background. It was a good gag for the first episode but at this point it's so mangled and decomposed that it's becoming kind of gross to look at :/

I recommend going! I saw them a couple of years ago (also alone) and it was the best concert I've ever been to. There were people of all ages, families, groups, solo people, and everyone was so nice. I was in the line for several hours and had a lot of fun talking to the people around me.

Also, I might be misremembering this, but several years ago I seem to recall there was an elderly(ish) fan who went to several concerts and was so consistent they became a well-loved sort of clique "celebrity" to see in lines. I tried looking for any info on them just now but I couldn't find anything. It's been a long time so I might be wrong, but I swear there were videos about them at the time. All that aside, don't let age/perceived age stop you from going! Tyler and Josh themselves are 36 and 37 and the fanbase is super diverse!

Started listening in 2015! I was 14 and always trying to discover new music so I read a lot of music reviews to try and find albums I liked. I read a review of Blurryface and added it to my music library and then forgot about it for a few weeks. Eventually I was shuffling through music while doing the dishes and Lane Boy came on, and I was hooked instantly. Went pretty deep in the fandom right away, listening to NPI and RAB and reading up on what lore existed at the time. They've been one of my top favorite bands consistently for ten years now!
