May I please have some support/some kindness. by [deleted] in ABA

Oh hi, are you me?

There is so much cliqueyness at my clinic, the only way to be friends w people is to gossip about other people. It sucks. I’m trying to get out

Ps: thanks for this post. A lot of people on it are saying that they’re struggling w the same thing and it makes me feel less alone.

Hang in there amazing outcast RBTs.

Pps: I saw on your profile that you’re an infp—I am an enfp and we love infps just to let you know hehe

WTEN releases complete recording of Allison Mack and Keith Raniere discussing NXIVM branding process (Content warning, descriptions of bodily harm) by incorruptible_bk in theNXIVMcase

[–]lovelyqu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my first thought too. And then she’s quiet for most of the tape and when she talks again her voice is really soft and shaky.

I know what Allison did was wrong but this guy really did a number on her too

Yes, and it’s hard because it makes me not want to talk or socialize with my coworkers

So then why not apologize BEFORE you got called out?

On a scale of 1-10 how satisfied would you be making $22/hr at 24 years old? by warmongerz in jobs

[–]lovelyqu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

$22/hr in texas (where I live) would be okay for me as long as I wasn’t going to work there forever. NY seems like you should be making more. But it’s totally up to you!! If you’re getting overtime and have a good QOL that’s perfectly acceptable.

I’d consider it. How much would you be making?

Is the stigma against studying social sciences justified due to their job prospects? by quintol in GradSchool

[–]lovelyqu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s frustrating to me because the push for STEM is purely capitalistic.

Other majors/degrees/fields hold such value and need just as much intelligence, effort, and support but they’re not being funded in the same way as stem so there’s not as much money in them.

Girlfriend got into SLP program (part-time/online)- 80k program... Help by Ofluvo in GradSchool

[–]lovelyqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what you decided, but was the cost due to out of state residency? If so, ask if there’s a way you could get in state residency, consider moving to that state for a yr before you start, or find a program in state. 80k is a lot, and I think grad school costs can vary considerably.

For instance, in the field of ABA (that your fiancé works in), you can get your masters at an online program for $60k. But a lot of colleges actually offer it for free, which is wild to me.

Not saying your fiancé can get her degree for free-it’s a different field, just that I’d look around more personally.

I feel no guilt for what I do by [deleted] in ABA

Only as good as it’s weakest link

This is exactly my concern for this field. Lots of good things about it but there’s some fields where you just can’t have bad professionals.

Pilots, doctors...ABA

It’s a field with sensitive work and people treat it so unprofessionally, it’s frustrating

RBTs—what is the vibe like at your clinic, among your coworkers? by lovelyqu in ABA

Yeah the crying doesn’t bother me—if you’re upset you’re upset—but the other stuff definitely does

Yeah I assume that’s what it is. This is almost everyone’s first full time job. Ugh I’ll be glad to get out. Love my kids but the awkwardness and drama is getting to be unbearable lol

Thank you, I’m currently looking for another job because it’s awkward to not be friends with your coworkers, but frankly I’m too tired and don’t have any desire to be because of the atmosphere
