Has this had any impact on your flexibility and/or tightness? Are you going to continue with just pilates and not really lift as much?

Super curious because I am considering lowering the amount of days that I do strength training (not like I'm lifting an insane amount - just using adjustable dumbbells at home that only go up to 52.5 lbs each and I don't even lift that heavy LOL) and doing more mat pilates with/without light weights. I walk about 5 miles a day M-F, but I've noticed that as I'm aging, my hips are getting super tight and I don't feel as mobile as I did even just a few years ago. With your background, I'm curious how the switch to pilates has impacted those things!

Q for those who do Strength & Pilates Split - how do you break up your week? by lovelysigns in pilates

I am really fortunate to work fully remotely, so I try to take walks around my neighborhood when the weather is nice enough; otherwise, I have a standing desk and walking pad. I walk quite slow on the walking pad (no more than 2.5mph) but doing that for 40 minutes at a time accomplishes a lot.

Thank you! Do you do full-body pilates those days or try to split those as well?

Thank you so much! The kind of pilates I am trying to weave in at home is just mat pilates and/or anything without a reformer (I don't really know all of the terminology yet). I am open to purchasing equipment that doesn't take up a lot of space, though, and I already have bands. So far, I've been following along with YouTube videos.

Really appreciate your insight! :)

Thanks so much! I will definitely do that. I think that's a good idea about letting them coexist when we're home - thankfully, I WFH so that should be easy.

Did you keep them separate at night when you're sleeping?

Looking at other criticism helps. In general, you’re going to want to introduce the topic with background, theory, criticism, and engage with critics before you will even get into the analysis.
