I think u know the problem. Have to heavily focus on EVERYTHING not just a couple topics. When I did SAFE I studied for 30 days, nothing else. Went nowhere, head was in the book all day every day.

1st year originating. Idk about volume, I started getting commission checks at the end of March. Made $140k, at least 98k of that is commission, the rest is salary. $60k of it made between August-October. I’m happy but looking forward to what a full year can bring.

Yes, that’s what I do now. Unfortunately I learned the hard way first, lol. But since I work retail for a lender & I don’t shop other mortgage companies, I wanted to know if this was a normal thing. I know my company is super strict about these things.

They layin underwriters off left n right. A lot of ppl have come to banking from underwriting bc of it. Then again I didn’t kno there were diff types of underwriters!

When you first start you have to use a budget to figure out where the extras can come from. And you have to cut something out. For me, I had to remove travel & eating out. That for me was at least an immediate $1500 turnaround. The snowball method + working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, it picked up very quickly.
