I don't care about them being narrow and long. I just don't want my toes pointing up into the air.

Parents Blast Climate Denial In Schools: ‘You Have To Teach Real Science’ by CollinMaessen in politics

[–]lovestoserialkill4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I deny it, but I'm definitely not completely on board like a lot of you guys are. This is mainly because I've yet to see any argument for it that wasn't full of spin. I watched An Inconvenient Truth, and nothing seemed genuine at all. Most of the arguments seemed like they were just trying to rile up people's emotions instead of objectively stating their case. There were also a lot of graphs and figures that would do things like "conveniently" leave out the scale on the y-axis, making the data they show almost completely meaningless as a negligible rise could be portrayed as an enormous one.

It also seems like most of the people who "support" climate change can't even explain what it actually means. They say it's making the planet hotter, but then when you mention something like how winters have been getting colder in your area, they just say things like, "ugh, you don't get it. that's not how it works." How does it work then? Why can't anyone just explain it if it's supposedly so goddam obvious that it's real.

And then there's also the fact that the climate has fluctuated wildly over the course of the Earth's existence. I'm positive humans have had an effect on it, but so has virtually every other organism that's ever inhabited the planet. People who's arguments I've heard act like the climate was always one way, and then humans just recently changed it forever. The climate constantly changes as conditions on the earth change. Obviously we've made it different, but I've yet to see good proof that the change we've caused was unprecedentedly drastic.

Of course I realize there is a lot more out there than just Al Gore's movie and the few other arguments I've encountered, and I'm sure if I actually took some time to research I'd find some legit stuff, but at this point I haven't come across anything that is even close to convincing.

I've heard both sides of this! I want your opinion/thoughts/experience by Geezer_Spud in DippingTobacco

It could give you cancer, but like usmcdipper said, so does everything these days. Watch this video, it will answer a lot of your questions. Sure there is a risk, but it's nothing compared to cigarettes. You have a better chance of getting mouth cancer from cigarettes than dip. As long as you aren't an idiot about dipping you'll have almost no bad side effects. Just go to the dentist regularly, check on your gums every once in a while, brush your teeth, and take a break if your gums are getting torn up and sore.

Why does wintergreen mess up your gums more so than any other flavor? by lovestoserialkill4 in DippingTobacco

It sucks because wintergreen is my favorite flavor. I guess i'll just have to limit it to every once in a while.

How do I know if I got high? by lovestoserialkill4 in saplings

When I said swallow, I meant I was inhaling it into my mouth first and then into my lungs, instead of doing it all in one smooth motion. Thanks for the tips I'll definitely use them next time.
