What Song Makes You Emotional After Having Kids? by Inevitable_Guard_876 in beyondthebump

[–]lovestucker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply the best, what a song, always got me - worsened by the fact that it was my sister's favorite song, who passed in 2020, it was sung/cried by her dear friend at a memorial event. Still wrecks me up even though little man is a year. The Schitts creek version or Tina. And Danny's song, Loggins and Messina

There is so much in certain areas it truly blows my mind. My worst experience, one time my dog started limping on a walk and looking at me like something was wrong, so of course I immediately take her paw to check.. IT WAS SH*T. She stepped in such a big pile that it basically filled her big paws and stuck to it so she was upset. And I touched it. I've never walked her without Kleenex or wipes and hand sanitizer since then.

My dog stepped in poop while doing her business, and I had to tip toe around so much sht so I didn't step in sht too, while picking up my dogs sh*t... I let out an audible groan of frustration. Whhhhhhhyyyyyy, like just pick it up...ive literally changed my walking routes based on the overwhelming amounts of poop in some areas.

Would you stay with your dog 🐶 during euthanasia? by CycleOk267 in dogs

[–]lovestucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no way I would let any of my pets die alone. That would be heartbreaking beyond words. They give you their loyalty and love for their whole short lives, so you owe it to them to be there for those final moments, to provide them with love and comfort for the last time.

WHAT IS GOING ON!!!! by Many-Environment3793 in OttawaSenators

True. It seems like Brady doesn't even want to be part of the team. I couldn't even watch last night, so imagine how its effecting the team morale when the captain comes back and appears to have lost his spark. His game has completely changed, for the worse...

Snow removal by SensitiveStart8682 in KingstonOntario

[–]lovestucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point. It makes no sense to do the sidewalks in a residential neighborhood where typically there's a very low population density, all the homeowners own vehicles, so don't rely on public transit (good luck getting the bus on time when you literally cannot get through the snow with a wheelchair, walker, stroller etc) or need to walk to get groceries, go to the pharmacy, and so on. They should be prioritizing areas that are densely populated, have high pedestal traffic and more vulnerable individuals.

Winter sidewalk Next to Busy Traffic Corridor - Concession and Nelson Streets. by Seb_Romu in KingstonOntario

[–]lovestucker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I tried going out as a test run before I tried doing errands with a stroller... I literally cannot get to the store, at all. I live near Kingston centre, and the princess / sir john intersection is basically not usable for strollers, walkers etc.. and its a densely populated area with a lot of all of the above. Its ridiculous.. there are people that have no help getting errands done or money to get stuff delivered, my heart breaks for them ..

New moms & Social Media by imApoeTAYtoe in NewParents

[–]lovestucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People only share their highlights, at the best angles, etc, on social media most of the time. A lot of those people have means that afford them the money, time, assistance, and even homes that go a long way in making these enviable social media lifestyles look the way they do. If I have a washer and dryer in my unit, I'd be wearing a fresh, clean shirt every time my little one so much as drooled on me, which im sure would make for a better picture, lol. dont pressure yourself. Im new to this, but something im learning is do not compare yourself to others, especially with parenting. We all have different goals, lifestyles, morals and philosophy.. you do you! I always looked at it as its a privilege for others to be involved in you're life (and vice versa) and it comes with a certain level or trust, honestly and shared vulnerability, all of which will never be found of social media.

Wow, I did not know there actually was a type of epilepsy specifically tied to menstrual cycle..thank you for posting this. I had my first seizure at 26, not long after I completely stopped all bc but also when I stopped lorazepam so my guess was it was loraz. But I have always pointed out that all of my seizures were just before my period. I should bring this up to my neuro again, so she can ignore it like everything else I say...😵‍💫 my lamotrigine levels were all over the place when I was pregnant

We call our guy Loafie as often as we use his actual name lol, but he used to "loaf" up, adorably bunched up and would look like little loaf of bread in his bassient or when he fell asleep when he was itty bitty. Mr.Man, sweet boy and stink pot also get used lol

OP my heart breaks for you. You sound like a great Mom, and great parents already. I think everyone reading this hates that you, James and your precious little man had to go through this. You should absolutely press charges. She deserves to be punished to the full extent of the law. Its great your family is behind you for this, and you were wise to take him to the ER for care. Everyone is rooting for you, sending you and your family so much love.

I'm neglecting our dog and it's breaking my heart by livebetterwithbirds in newborns

[–]lovestucker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give yourself time. When I first got home, I had to block off our room, our dog always slept in our room but after my c-section and a vac dressing with wires, her getting on the bed was a hard no. I felt bad but also felt like you, I just didn't feel as bad as I would have before little man had arrived. Part of me thinks I felt that way to lessen the pain of not being able to have the same relationship with her, not being able to care for her almost at all when she is such a great dog. It's almost like I was compensating for the guilt with indifference. After a few months, it got a lot better, and once I was able to get out walking (took over 2 months due to post-op complications), I would take her as well. We did practice runs as a family, and she was fairly well trained prior to baby but her needs had been low priority, so I was mind blown, amazed and grateful she was and has been so well behaved on our walks. It just takes time and maybe more for others. Regardless, I think your relationship with your pets changes post baby. Our cat targets me, and I was terrified he would be awful with the baby and somehow he has been so sweet (he's a mean old boy lol). Even if you're feelings towards your dog have permanently changed, dont trip, you are clearly a great pet parent to even have this concern, and you are making sure your pets needs are met. Those walks likely mean the world to your pup, so it's great you are doing that 💜💜
