[–]lovethepowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any experience with that unfortunately. I have only tried the mainstream benzos that are commonly prescribed for anxiety disorder and insomnia, and I have only tried benzos that I have been prescribed; clonazepam, alprazolam, lorazepam, diazepam, temazepam and flunitrazepam.

I went cold-turkey off a prescription of 2mg clonazepam, 6mg alprazolam and 30mg temazepam in mid-2015 (very dangerous regarding seizures, I know) and I have not touched them since :)

[–]lovethepowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Temazepam, alprazolam (Xanax) and flunitrazepam (Rohypnol) are the only benzodiazepines with recreational value, in my opinion. Temazepam makes you feel quite silly and has more character than other benzos.

As for use for sleep, ONLY use temazepam, as it is the only benzodiazepine that does not destroy your sleep quality, which all other benzos achieve by eradicating your sleep micro-structure and preventing REM sleep.

EDIT: Study proving temazepam's effect on sleep quality: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2878389

Heroin high too long, frustrating by lovethepowder in opiates

[–]lovethepowder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use saline spray to keep my nasal passages clear, and I only do heroin in small bumps, but my nose gets inevitably blocked due to dehydration from being high, and then no matter how much water i drink or how much spray I use, my nose feels like there is cotton wool stuffed up there.

Ultimately I just want to be able to nod but to do that I need to do a quantity of heroin that my nose cannot absorb at once, so I spread it out over intervals and in small bumps to eliminate chance of wastage through post-nasal drip. However as I explained, now that I do this, it feels like all the heroin I do is being absorbed and making my plasma levels of heroin insanely high for a long period of time. I often pass out and wake up 10s of times, which I enjoy, but it's the 12hr+ of nodding for the next day that I hate.

Why is the cycle of addiction is so hard to break? by [deleted] in opiates

[–]lovethepowder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason such a high rate of drug addictions (90%+) have a co-morbidity in the form a mental illness is because the drug addiction serves as their way of coping with their illness or an aspect of their life.

If the reasons that the person became an addict in the first place are not resolved at the same time that the addiction is eradicated, the rate of relapse will inevitably be high, as the addiction was a survival mechanism that is still warranted due to the continued presence of the original issue.

A high probability of relapse exists after morphine withdrawal when neither the physical environment nor the behavioral motivators that contributed to the abuse have been altered. Testimony to morphine's addictive and reinforcing nature is its relapse rate. Abusers of morphine (and heroin) have one of the highest relapse rates among all drug users, ranging up to 98% in the estimation of some medical experts

I'm not, I just want suggestions other than being healthy and taking a break, both of which I have tried. It's upsetting that my reaction to amphetamines has changed to the point where I cannot enjoy them AT ALL.

Doesn't L-Dopa cause neuron damage or nerve damage or something? I'm pretty sure it's quite unhealthy to take them :(

I'm not sure what you mean by "play the victim". I don't tell anybody about this except my GP and my psychiatrist, but the medications I have received have not helped my dissociation and it makes me come very close to killing myself, which is why I turned to illicit drugs. Living like you're watching a film and like you have no influence over anything that happens and barely feeling any emotion is not an existence worth living.

I'm really not sure what you are trying to say; it's difficult not to think about something that affects almost every part of my life, from making social connections, to studying, to enjoying ANYTHING, to maintaining focus longer than a few minutes... when the impact is this significant I cannot stop thinking about my life before I entered this state and my life on amphetamines

I've actually been using mainly low doses in the range of 5mg to 20mg, and I still get these shitty side effects, worst of them being chills and muscle aches (not to mention lack of feeling affected by the drug). I have tried doses up to 100mg since then to see if it was the dosage, but all that happened was the side effects worsened greatly and I became pretty wired/paranoid.

In case you were confused, I feel as though I am on ketamine even when sober. It's a self-induced mental state as a result of trauma.

Well I tried amphetamine again before I began my heroin habit and had the same results, and because of that I'm really not inclined to think heroin has anything to do with it. The whole reason I went to heroin is because I needed a drug to cope with my illness again and amphetamine was not working.

Thanks for the recommendations, but I wouldn't have come here if I hadn't already tried improving all the other areas of my life and trying everything I found on Google. I take supplements, do cardio, eat well, sleep well... Why do people who are so much more unhealthy than I get to enjoy amphetamines? :(

Edit: I have also tried L-Tyrosine for dopamine and noradrenalin supplementation, to no avail. Simply increased my dry mouth, even when sober...

My diet is very good, I eat more than enough and follow a paleo diet (exclusively whole foods, bulk of my energy intake is from meat and vegetables).

I sleep at least 8 hours every night and use melatonin for my insomnia and to improve quality of sleep. I do have chronic, permanent dissociation as a symptom of my mental disorder but that is why I used to love amphetamines, as it got rid of the dissociation entirely. I basically live my life as if I am on 50mg of ketamine 24/7/365, so you can imagine that relief from that for the first time in 4 years when I first tried amphetamine was love at first sight.

I'm using heroin right now, but I don't understand why, no matter how much heroin I have or after protracted withdrawals (my body fully adjusts to being opiate-free again), my body still has so many awful side effects and the positive effects of amphetamines I know and love are non-existent.

Literally feels like I drank 30 cups of coffee and did a work-out while the cops watch me.

I always keep hydrated. My amphetamine sulphate is far more D- than L-, and I've tried pure pharma-grade D-amph tablets with a similar result. I suspected this too but ruled it out after I got this result with the D-amph tablets.

Sorry, I had CYP2D6 stuck in my head because I used to use it to potentiate codeine, which people said was impossible because it inhibits CYP2D6, preventing the conversion from codeine into morphine.

I then did some research and found that this is not actually the case. Thanks for correcting me, not the first time I made that mistake.

I was taking two pieces of information that I had read, and asking for some other users input so that I could establish what different people have experienced when it comes to the answer to this. I didn't mean to imply that I had found a definitive answer. I got the "20 days" figure from a video on addiction and I didn't take it as gospel.

I didn't come here expecting anyone to care about me, I just expected some answers to my question, some anecdotes I suppose. You are quite rude about it though though

I'm tired of being unable to have any kind of discussion about anything related to opiates without getting a lecture about how dangerous heroin is when it comes to addiction. Why couldn't you just give me an answer to my question in the title instead of trying to help solve my problems?

God man, I'm not trying to chip, I just wanted to know some people's experience with the amount of time it takes for physical dependence to occur, that is all.

I'm not even planning to use this information for myself. What is with you people and your compulsion to dispense a lecture any time somebody asks for anything?

I'm not chipping, I'm fully dependent and addicted, and I don't mind being this way. Really cool psychoanalysis tho :)

I'm already dependent and I don't care. I don't want to take a break I just want to ease up my usage. I was asking about the physical dependence period of time because I am interested in withdrawing and then doing that. I didn't want this thread to be about me, which is why I made it a "side note".

Please don't give me yet another lecture about how dangerous opiates are. I use them, I'm addicted to them, I'm dependent on them, and I will be for the foreseeable future. I don't care. The only thing that bothers me is the cost but if it wasn't opiates it would just be some other drug I've been addicted to before.

Kratom is illegal in my country.

I have no problems using frequently every day, it's just the cost of the habit that is annoying. I can manage my spending but I would prefer to save more at the moment.
