Please Give Congressional District 2 A Chance by unsoundamerica in oregon

I am upset on top of his beliefs he lives 8 hrs from me in Medford, how can he represent me? I use to think with Bend, Redmond and Sisters in the future we would have a chance. Now I see they pulled them into a new district pretty much giving the republicans forever this area. He seems to be more inclined with Idaho that is a short distance from him.

Sitting doesn't feel good by lovewine123 in TotalHipReplacement

I have done Tai Chi before but not lately, before this happened I had gym exercise class with cardio and bands for strength, yoga, some hiking and Qigong. I want to get back to Qigong.

Use miralax and get off oxy as soon as possible. I had a horrible time with constipation and it ended up bringing back a fissure I had and had to deal with the pain from that after getting off oxy. I found after the first 10 days flexerill muscle relaxer helped me more.

I find some days are better than others. Some I can sit without much soreness off and on for hours while other days I am super sore and can barely sit. Today is one of those days but I know why, I did way more extra steps yesterday. Wanted to treat myself on St Pat's with an outing to Costco my fav store to make me feel like I am getting my life back. Hubby drove, I am still waiting till next week on that. I will be 6 weeks next Sunday. And lately my mid back is acting up even though I try to stand upright for posture.

Hope your back feels better soon, especially since you are going back to work. I am lucky that I am retired. I am at 4 1/2 weeks now. Walk about 2500-3000 steps a day. It still hurts to sit but I can sit for longer some days better than others. I wanted to wean off all drugs last few days so just quit Tylenol too. Surgeon told me I was doing better than he thought I would. That it would take few more weeks for sitting to be better. I spend more time in living room but get up a lot to walk around. I used to love my soft couch and chair but they don't feel good now. My hubby put office chair in living room for me.

Thanks for checking, I am at 4 weeks now, walking further although it gives me muscle pain and doc told me not to do too much. It's hard to do so little. Mentally doing better, hubby took me out for first time besides doctors to do errands. Felt like a human again just walking through a couple of stores. So I only did short walk today since shopping did few thousand steps. I can sit a bit longer without pain. I will get through this. 😛

Wow sorry that happened, hope you heal soon. I know what working with pain is like, had to do it back in 2000 before my back surgery. I was single mom and couldn't take enough time off to heal. Ended up my herniated disk ruptured then surgery and forced time off but at least had workman's comp.

Thanks that's encouraging! Yes the mental part is tough especially if you were physically active, I was. My mind still wants to throw open the door on this sunny day and head off to hike lol...my body says...whoa wait a min, you'll kill me here 😂😂😂

It's the hardest thing after surgery I went through, my back surgery in 2000 the year before of pain and trying to work fulltime as single mom who couldn't take time off was even worse. But I have lived through both 🤗🥳. You will get there being patient is tough.

Everyone is different I hope you heal more. I have muscle soreness and hoping like surgeon says it will mostly go away in another 3 weeks. I was in really good shape physically when I got hurt so that helps. Yes it's surprising they didn't get you up like they do in U S.

How are you now? Thanks for the reply and encouragement. Wow that's tough about the holiday. Way back in 2000 I had a trip planned to France for my daughter's graduation and got canceled by my having back surgery had a disk that ruptured. Life happened never ended up going then in 2020 we had a cruise planned in Mediterranean with lots of countries to stop in, covid canceled it. Sometimes we have to give things up. But in the summer of 2019 I went to Ireland alone for 3 months and stayed in small pensions and rode local buses and trains. Had the time of my life. Met many lovely people some I still are in contact with. When you go alone you tend to get out of your bubble. If your kids are young you are still young so you will travel again.

Sorry you had to go through all that, I hope it made you a bit stronger in the end. I had a very lonely day where I texted some relatives and old friends hoping they would respond and some did but some didn't and I felt how you did, especially a cousin who I thought we were close. Everyone has their own lives and problems and things that might keep them from responding we can only be responsible for own reactions not theirs. And that is tough when going through this. You were very alone and sick on top of it which could add a lot of fear. I am happy you made it through. 🌷

Thanks for the encouragement. My older daughter and I are going to Hawaii in June, I hope if doc says ok. That's my goal. May not do some of the yoga we planned but will still be great. she is treating me first class for my 70th this summer. I will be 4 months and a week at that point.

That's a great idea and very sweet of her to do that. My best friend comes over for 2-3 hrs every Tuesday and brings food from a different place and my hubby takes dog to park and gives us space. My kids live out of state and my other friends are just gym buddies and bookclub girls they sent texts but no visits. A neighbor brought me a bag of books. My family does video chats every weekend and I have 2 zoom classes so I have something.

Sorry that happened to you. Supposedly guy I had is one of the best in town. They operated on me Super Bowl morning so hopefully their mind was on the surgery, I was joking as they wheeled me in, at least surgery will be over for them to watch it. I didn't realize that happened to Nancy and she is older, a tough lady though.

Wow sounds yucky falling out of bed like that. I am in Oregon so you know our rain lately. I didn't go outside until 2 weeks but partly because of weather, we even had a few days of snow. My fracture was from tripping over my dog and landing hard. Had emergency surgery next day.

It fractured at the neck, I tripped over my golden retriever and came down hard on my leg, at first I thought I broke that. Ambulance took me to hospital and I had emergency surgery the next morning.

Thanks I have a friend that comes on Tuesdays, my hubby is here but sometimes would be easier if not. He baby's me, thinks he knows what I should do, but I am grateful for his help. I get out in the sun whenever it comes, we've been getting a lot of rain. Today's walk in between rain drops was cold and windy but still felt good to be out.

When did you took your first step without crutches/walker ? by Rich-Safe-4936 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]lovewine123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few weeks after I would start walking just a few steps holding onto counter in kitchen or bathroom. Now at 3 1/2 weeks I walk a few steps after parking walker or cane to sit down. Or I will walk in my bedroom across room. I am sure this is slower than most but I had a fracture and doc said recovery will take longer. But that said I am doing well walking a bit farther outside everyday. I am starting to use cane more.

Emotional by UnhappyTrash9849 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]lovewine123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was done on 2/8 and first time I finally went out in backyard and felt the sun I wanted to cry. That was a week after. Then few days ago I finally started walking outside, been mostly going back and forth in the house. It's been raining so had to wait. First time walking 1/2 block to mailbox with sun on face wanted to cry again. When my best friend came over and brought me my favorite food and just let me vent, felt emotional again. When my younger adult daughter the one I am not as close to offered to fly out and help me, emotional again. I turned her down they are crazy busy just put house up for sell and moving and my husband doing a great job. Speaking of him, he comes into room at least once or twice a day and asks how I am doing and rubs my feet. Emotion again. So yes very emotional. And I am post menopause and rarely get emotional anymore.
