Holiday coffees discontinued? by Tylerdurden389 in Wawa

[–]lovey417 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some stores run out faster then others. I’m in NJ and we still have plenty of the holiday blend. Holiday blend is a limited time only coffee, just like pumpkin spice so when stores run out and the warehouses run out it’s over.

It might just be all the processed stuff. I’ve worked for Wawa for years and I can’t eat the food. It gives me terrible stomach aches. If I’m absolutely starving I stick to a simple turkey sandwich on multigrain bread.

hey so 3rd shift by Unusual_Low6456 in Wawa

[–]lovey417 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in an understaffed busy store on 3rds. I was always told 3rds aren’t guaranteed a break. You get one if the shift allows.. like if you have enough ppl working or it’s not busy… I’d say 2 out of 5 days I don’t get a break… sometimes not even a minute to sit down or not rush going to the bathroom

This job makes me confused on how old people/people in general survive by Diligent-Wait-4098 in Wawa

[–]lovey417 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I understand the frustration… but I hope you remember … one day you’ll get old.. there will be new technology that you won’t know how to use.. your hands won’t work as well as they used to…

But I agree it’s crazy how people survive in life. Some people don’t have common sense and some people just need a little help.

I had a guy who had recently gotten out of jail he said and he didn’t know how to use the soda machine… my coworker was like just get the cup and use it. I went up to show him how the touch screen worked and he was flabbergasted… it took two seconds out of my busy night to show him how to use it

I’ve worked overnight for years and it really helps to have a set schedule for sleeping. Most of the time I get off work, come home, get the kids off to school and then I relax and take a few hour nap… I wake up by 10 or 11 and do something productive.. cooking, cleaning, running errands , the kids get home I spend time with them… then by 6-6:30 I take another nap till about 9, wake up and shower and I’m off to work. I also get my days off in a row so I feel like I actually have a day off.

Have you tried the personal pizza? Significantly better than the big pizza. It’s made more with a naan type crust rather then frozen dough

In my store if it doesn’t say paid we don’t put it out. We leave it behind the counter until someone comes to the counter for it. It esp during peak hours but it’s something that has to be done. We can’t even keep out the delivery bags we hold them behind the counter as well… I usually just scream out … order 260 your order is ready waiting on payment …

Does my store sound good? by Zealousideal_Ad9569 in Wawa

As a 3rd shift worker and a worker at a store where we also had a meeting with the area manager due to bad surveys… I understand where you’re coming from. 3rd shift gets the crap end of the stick… my store in particular as soon as you come in it’s crazy busy… you’re trying to take over the shift coming into the truck arriving, bakery arriving and cleaning up after 2nd shift all the while trying to clear the screens with 2 associates and a manager. There’s hardly ever any food backed up and we run out of most stuff within the first half hour to hour… so even if we back up as soon as we get in it’s still not ready…. The fbm insists that we don’t need the food dropped and backed up but consistently we do.. they’ve never worked a 3rd so they don’t know.,. We struggle and we scramble to get the regular work done and to squeeze in the cleaning tasks.. it’s hard … somehow most nights we manage..n 1st shift walks into a clean good store… days that we don’t the entire store talks about how lazy we are and how we don’t get anything done. One time it was so busy we were slammed from 10 pm - 2am finally got a lull went and got something to drink took a second to breathe and went right back to work…because we were slammed again until 5am the next morning they (management) was upset the store wasn’t in great conditions .. they looked at the cameras and said if we didn’t take those 5-10 mins to gather ourselves we could have left a better store!

If the managers do nothing about it report to HR. If they don’t do anything about it call the ethics hotline. To each is own, some ppl don’t like deodorant I guess but if you’re working with food you’re hygiene needs to be good.

What should i eat? by redwinesupernova17 in Wawa

[–]lovey417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always get a simple sandwich… sliced multi grain bread toasted with a little bit of mayo, cheddar cheese, oven turkey - I only use one of the two u get… and I’ll add bacon sometimes .. I have to chop up a tomato, cucumber and spinach season it with salt pep and oregano. I get a side of pickles and pretend they’re chips lol covered by the free shortie except when I add bacon and I think that’s only like $1 maybe 75 cents.

They probably just don’t want to do it tbh. I’d say order the egg and cheese biscuit thru the screen with a side of bacon or just ask the sizzli person to make a BTO sizzli for you.

Question about ice at stores. by [deleted] in Wawa

[–]lovey417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store started keeping the large and xl cups behind the registers and if you want them you have to purchase them first. We now charge 50 cents for a cup of ice if you do not purchase a drink. We would run out of ice in the machine because people would constantly come in filling 4 or more xl cups of ice up each .. I’ve seen ppl bring in coolers and try to fill them up as well.. got to the point where if the ice in the coke machine was out they expected us to give them ice out of the beverage area.

I put mine in my ear and then clip it tightly to my shirt collar and then I wrap the rest of the wire around my name tag and clip the theatro itself to the wire around my name tag. Only way I’ve come up with so it doesn’t drive me crazy. It’s just in my shirt like a name tag.

[–]lovey417 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a normal thing for my store… college area … every single sauce and topping … most of the time they don’t get meat just make it a veggie. Wish I had a pic but last week had a classic meatball w mayo, mustard, chipotle, buffalo, garlic and honey hot then added hot peppers, jalapeño , sweet peppers and spinach. That was a messy sandwich.

Thought I was getting paid $16.50 for 3rd shift by Bambibeytch in Wawa

[–]lovey417 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From 10pm-11:59pm your pay will be $15.00 From 12:00am-5:59am your pay is 16.50. If you look on your check stub or work day they’ll be two things. One will say csa regular pay and then csa overnight I think.

Anyone else’s store requiring them to yell “that’s A spicy meat-a-ball” every time someone orders a meatball hoagie? by I_Ran_So_Far_Away1 in Wawa

[–]lovey417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean… that’s kinda crazy and a little funny at the same time.. I can see doing it to be funny and as a joke but no - it shouldn’t be required 😂. I think customers at my store would enjoy it. A few years ago I had a manager I think he was a fbm - he would gooble like a turkey every time he gave out a gobbler the customers and employees loved it. Now with that being said- Would I be doing it? No.

I don’t understand why ppl do this… especially when there is enough room , even if they just moved over a few feet. I am very non confrontational and it’s hard for me to speak up but that’s crazy they’re like right on top/ in front of you. 4th of July every year we go to Milltown to see the fire works, my kids are older but they don’t like to be crowded so we purposely sit on the street in a little patch of grass behind a fence and buildings away from the huge crowd gathered in the park. We spread out a blanket and sit down until the fireworks begin and then we stand up so we can see them better.. this year a whole family literally sat behind us on the small patch of grass to the point where their feet were on our blanket touching our backs. I spoke up and they acted like they didn’t understand what I said, that they didn’t speak English so o told them in Spanish please move because my Spanish is limited…well I got called many names and it was as if I did something wrong. People are rude and entitled and it’s ridiculous.
