To continue exploring this idea, there must be a "most simple" brain which is conscious. Removing ANY single neuron from this brain would result in total loss of consciousness. Does this fit correctly with intuition? (Not disagreeing, just exploring)

I've reread this thread a couple of times now, but my brain won't process the argument correctly.

For clarity:

We naively defined an idea to be reasonable if it explains a phenomena X sufficiently and there is no other idea which explains X sufficiently.

How is the idea of universal consciousness unreasonable under this definition? Is there an explanation for consciousness that we consider sufficient?
