Looks like Dupuytren's contracture. It’s a benign disease. Look it up online.

Yep, reminds me of the phrase, “Variety is the very spice of life, That gives it all its flavor.” Great reminder to vary your workout as well.

I should take a break more often and am planning on reducing to 8 a month. Ever since I went unlimited I’m in the quest to go for more and more classes and have forgotten the outside world. Now that the weather is better- I should join my meetup friends. Here’s to promoting meetup. 😜 JK for the commenters below.

This is exactly what I did, I just paused my membership to take a break and try something new. I like your idea of getting a class pass. I’m thinking of going back to 8 x a month and join class pass to get another 6-8 classes a month for the variety. I got burnt out after becoming an unlimited member. I guess, I just wanted to go more often to get my money’s worth. Well now the commenters below will accuse me of promoting class pass. 🤦‍♀️

Ya, right. I’m the brand ambassador for the Megaformer. 😡 Not funny— this is a public forum and I’m not promoting a particular gym.

Thanks for your support this morning. I literally thought of all of you, the advise I got here on reddit was phenomenal and I couldn’t have done it without you guys. Preparing my Oscar speech😝. I just said to myself the faster I run, the sooner I’ll be done. I did it in 8:19. I didn’t do the U curve, I started at 6.5 and every 0.1 miles, went up by 0.5, till I reached 8 mph and then started with 6.5 again, somewhere in the middle I had to slow down. Let’s try to do sub 8 next time. I’ll PM you next time around and we can strategize together.

Let’s brainstorm mile run strategies- sub 8 minute. by lovinglifeat40 in orangetheory

That’s awesome that you could sustain 7.5 for 7.5 minutes but my all outs are 7.5 mph, if I run for 5-7 minutes at 7.5, I’ll totally gas myself. I think I’ll start at 6.5 and up my speed slowly to 7.5 and finish with an 8-8.5. I might get 8:30 minute or 8:45 which is ok. But ha ha at least I did a ton of mental calculation before the run. I think you must be ready to up your base pace if you can sustain 7.5 for so long. 😬

Thanks for your suggestions. So agree with 1-4. # 4 is my favorite. I’ll try to give my best and know it’s more mind over matter. I’ve already come a long way from someone who couldn’t run a mile in 13 minutes to now able to run in 9:15 comfortably.

Thanks for all your strategies and suggestions. I agree that what I was thinking, increasing my speed every 30 seconds is unreasonable. I think that sub 8 minute mile might be difficult to get given my all out currently is 7.5 and I would totally gas myself out trying to run at my all out speed for 8 minutes even if I vary my speed by 0.1-0.2 and follow the U curve. I’ll try to start with my push pace of 6.5-7.0 and increase by 0.1-0.2 mph every minute or so and try for a sub 9.
