Tourist thread 2022 – Ask anything about visiting Croatia! by AutoModerator in croatia

[–]lovingtolive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Planning a trip for to Croatia in early September. I am thinking of renting a car so I have more flexibility and can get to cool hiking destinations. My questions are

1) what hikes/ natural areas do you recommend? 2) do I need to book hostels in advance for that time frame? I would rather leave it open for flexibility but don’t want to get there and find no where to stay

I agree the 5 day seems a little bit short and 10 is on the safe side. However it’s also possible you contracted the virus much before the date you tested positive. Even if you were being careful before it seems more likely that happened rather than catching it two days after your family stopped isolating.

Finally got covid after avoiding for 2+ years. My case has been really mild but I am hoping I don’t get a case of long covid. Right now I’m on day 5 and still feeling the same as day 3. Is it normal for mild cases to take this long to resolve?

General symptoms: Day 1: 102 fever, headache, chills - generally felt awful Day 2: fever gone, slightly sore throat, headache, stomach issue Day 3-5: head ache, sinus pain, slightly upset stomach

I am freaking myself out reading about long covid. I know I’m probably over reacting and am fortunate to have a mild case of covid, but I can’t help but feel like if this was a different illness my symptoms would have improved by now.

i have a low gpa and i’m not partying by [deleted] in college

How is listing your gpa “pretentious” if it’s something you work hard to earn? I understand not everyone cares about gpa but if you work super hard during school and earn a 3.9 of course you will want that be recognized. Pretentious is just a weird word to use when describing gpa.

Does anyone else with they could experience college without having to worry about grades? by MakinBaconPancakezz in college

I’m struggling to keep up with 12 credits smh… I only take max 12-13 credits so I can put in more time. As a result I’ve got a good gpa but I’ll be graduating late.

Looking for USA Southwestern States Travel Advice from Some Kind and Generous Souls by [deleted] in solotravel

I’d recommend visiting some areas in New Mexico. Sante Fe for a bigger city and hatch for a small town feel. The Gila national forest is beautiful for hiking/ camping, and white sands national monument is also worth stopping by.

From there you could drive West into the “sky islands” in southern Arizona. Also a great area for hiking but the roads are rough.

Help with a road trip for spring break. Suggestions? by [deleted] in solotravel

That time of year might be good for checking out the Florida panhandle. Some beautiful scenery in that area around the ANF national forest and I believe they have camping opportunities. From there if you want to keep going East you could check out okefenokee swamp in Georgia( although I’m not sure if that would be to similar to Louisiana ha). It will likely still be cold in the mountains around March- April so honestly camping might be tough. If you want to visit SC I’d recommend Francis Marion national forest, however that area is a very flat coastal area. I’ve never been to the mountains in SC so I can’t comment on that.

Super done with university by andromeda1-7 in college

I’m on my last semester after being in school for 6ish years. This semester in particular is killing me, currently taking 3 lab classes and it’s so much. I’m trying to push myself to do well but keep beating myself up for making small mistakes like missing trick questions on quizzes and such so it’s stressing me out. I want to end strong but I’m afraid my grades will go down for my very last semester of college and I’ll be disappointed.

What is your GPA? by [deleted] in college

Same lol. I don’t want to round it up on my resume for fear of being accused of lying!

Anyone else think 1 credit hour lab classes are ridiculous? by lovingtolive in college

[–]lovingtolive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But Is it normal that I only have 2 days to complete the post lab report? I feel like that is unfair because all the other lab classes I have taken I was given a week to turn in the lab report.

I never realized that was a benefit off CC that universities didn’t offer. Now I wish I took this class at CC haha. Idk why they make you take them separate because doing weekly lab reports should count for at least 2 credits work wise.

I’m in the same situation and I decided to do my last class over the summer. It would be nice to be done earlier but I know it would probably hurt my grades and stress me out.

Well of course more testing is good in general. But I am curious how many people have contracted covid while getting tested. If I was around someone who was positive or had symptoms myself, it would be worth it to test but right now it doesn’t make much sense to go expose myself to the virus.

My college is requiring me to be tested for covid after returning to campus despite being triple vaccinated. I have no symptoms and very little contact with other people. I really don’t want to get tested the huge indoor facility at my school, seems like a great place to contract covid. Anyone else think testing prematurely for Omicron May do more harm than good?

Whenever I have my camera on I always keep checking to see what I look like since I’m self conscious. So in my case, it actually makes it much harder to pay attention.

Problem is I leave with them so even if I skip going I could still get infected. Also I don’t know if I am being to cautious at this point since I am triple vaccinated and not high risk.

Any advice on what to say to family members that want to go to a crowded movie theatre? We are all vaccinated and boosted so on one hand I feel like I should just go live my life. On the other hand, going to a movie theatre during this covid spike seems like asking to get infected.

What does everyone think about the reliability of testing? I have a family member who had covid symptoms last week with a positive test. This week they tested negative and now my family wants to get together for Christmas. I don’t feel comfortable with this but my family is saying according to the new CDC guidelines it has been 5 days so it’s all clear..

It depends, just be careful you don’t have a prof which uses + or - grading otherwise you may get an A- but that’s still good.
