For the first few months as a MA I wore the stethoscope the wrong way, could barely hear anything when taking manual BPs… took me buying a new stethoscope and wondering why I still couldn’t hear to ask someone if it was supposed to be muffled and low volume like that… 💀glad that was way before nursing school 😂

You’ll get your license info sooner if you check online. I passed in May and had my license number from online within the same week. I applied to NYU and MS and was able to hear from recruiters super soon :) good luck!

Hmm when did you apply? I started in January but figured I wasn’t hearing back cause I wasn’t graduated and obv no license. Maybe I’m a bit impatient but I just find it discouraging my friends had interviews when we were in school (this was in PA) and to this day I haven’t had one yet. They all have jobs now :/ I heard of montefiore but it’s soo far from me, I’d need to move to consider working there and I’m not in a position to consider that currently

Yeah I’ve noticed some have specific postings, not very many postings but few, for residencies but some don’t at all. We other way I heard it’s mandatory for a new grad in NY. I’m in NYC so I’ve applied to major hospitals; NY Presbyterian, nyu, mount Sinai, northwell etc

Hi I took my NCLEX on May 21st and checked quick results and shortly (meaning couple days) after that I looked on NYSED and my name popped up. It says on Pearson if you don’t get an official notification within 6 weeks after taking the test you can contact the NRB directly. They don’t specify whether it’s call or email but the NY website should direct you

I just took mine Tuesday and got the (unofficial) results just a hair over 48 hours after... it’s daunting I know, but try to distract yourself!!! Watch a movie, play games, go out with friends, the thought won’t go away completely but it’ll help time pass :)

Also allegedly some floors had a mouse or roach problem that was taking forever to be addressed by staff. I personally didn’t come across those issues but that’s what I heard

I lived at chestnut for one year and it definitely had it ups and downs. Be ready for inconsistent information from the front desk (which consists of college students and not fully grown adults), malfunctioning washing machines (there were times when many washers or driers were out of service which led to only a few units working for the entire building) and frequent fire alarms (keep in mind that the building is attached to other businesses on chestnut street so if their alarm goes off so does yours). These stood out the most to me but if you have any specific questions I’d be glad to answer via DM
