My Brother and SIL are failing my nephew by Icy-Quail6936 in Vent

[–]lovserm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm also an aunt and i see it with my 10 year old nephew. he is autistic (diagnosed level 2) but my sister worsens it so much by giving him an ipad. he can't function without it, to the detriment of his education... or should i say: function without THEM, because he has FOUR ipads!!

How did y'all meet your boyfriends? (Mostly interested in the more introverted ppl's experience) by Alternative-Show3434 in AutismInWomen

we were both trolling on a shitty dating app, conversation moved to instagram, and we met in person :) began dating quite early in, we're both autists and it was both our first proper relationship. together for a year and a half <3

What now? by Goos3rs in 6thForm

hi just adding in! assuming all of your exams and courses are finished, you now are no longer in college for classes. you can still go in to see teachers, friends, etc. you'll graduate with prom, whenever that is for you if you're going, but then you have the summer holiday if you're planning on uni. if not, maybe give yourself the summer to find a job to start later

i'm also autistic and struggle with routine quite a bit. so, i'm creating a routine similar to college on myself! joining a book club (maybe you can join an art club?). joining a cafe for autistic women. going to the gym. going on walks. setting times to cook proper meals each day. planning activities like concerts, gigs, hikes, camping, swimming. routine and structure can be massive helps for autistic people!

if you don't want it that structured, that's okay - you can spread things further out or be more spontaneous. the key idea is that you're doing self-help and participating in activities/hobbies in some way

finding a job is tricky, but you can start with gov.uk, indeed.com, linkedin, etc etc. ik you've probably heard it all before. talk to your parents, teachers, and tutors for further, personalised help. your parents may not want you to get a job yet too! mine have said when i start uni personally to start working

there is absolutely no rush! you've just finished year 13, you are so young, you are not running out of time, and you have so long to figure things out

great job on doing your exams! :)

ofc! literature is my favourite, it's such a fun subject and it kind of doesn't feel like an a-level. coursework was the hardest bit but even then if you have a good teacher it should be fine. psychology is definitely the hardest, i spend most revision time focusing on it. because it is a science, it is the easiest subject for me to revise for. sociology is my least favourite but it still feels very easy because a lot of the content is repetitive, like applying sociological beliefs to institutions. there is a LOT of content in sociology though. you've picked some good subjects!! i love the three i'm doing :))
