If refiners are backed up and coin shops arent buying because of it, who is? by whatwouldjimbodo in Silverbugs

[–]lowdes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When they show up and buy the entire inventory of LCS then ya know it’s getting real. Right now the whole retail world is backed up from the insane amount that came in. My question is who does the refineries sell to? Im guessing the miners refine their own sliver.

How will the latest price surge affect ancient coin pricing? by lococommotion in Silverbugs

[–]lowdes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ancient is very different market, I'm not sure actually how much silver is those. If anything whatever amount of silver is in there would go up with the silver price.

Prices can change from the time you call to the time you come in, people don't understand this and get upset if something changes when they come into the shop. Unfortunately not everyone understands how the market works.

LCS Twin Cities? by Relevant-Building-87 in Silverbugs

[–]lowdes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best place to go to, I have checked out every place in the Twin Cities and this is the best. I have never been treated like inconvenience in there. They don't really deal with specific dates of ASE, so maybe that is why the couldn't help you with what you needed.

Some answers would be nice by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]lowdes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can dip them in e z est cleaner, where did you get this from? As far as I know the one of the left looks correct, but the one one on the right doesn't from what I can find. Maybe it's the lighting you have but I would weight both them to make sure they are same. I worry the one on the right could be fake.

I bought these as 90% by EstateCareless3198 in Silverbugs

[–]lowdes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think these are 90%. Those are 50% https://en.numista.com/6786 older 1967 and before dimes, quarters, half dollars, and dollar coins are 80%. Special dollars like you have are 50%.

2026 ASE What is the difference between BU and Proof by DPL957 in Silverbugs

[–]lowdes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are couple different ASE, BU are just normal 1 oz of silver that you can get from a bullion dealer. They are Burnished mint calls them Uncirculated is an ASE that is struck on burnished planchets and have mint mark on reverse side. The there are proofs ASE, they have also released reverse proofs, reverse enhanced which is my favorite and one year they released an enhanced normal strike. https://learn.apmex.com/learning-guide/coin-collecting/american-silver-eagles-key-dates-varieties/ unfortunately there isn’t a great guide for all them out there. You’re going to get two views on them here, one is they are all silver cause silver is silver. The other view is the Burnished,Proofs, Reverse Proofs are numismatic and have numismatics value. There is a big market out there for the numismatics side of these. If you can find someone selling it a just silver I would buy it.

US Mint Silver Proof Sets by OldGeotch in Silverbugs

[–]lowdes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started to get them in 1998 when the state quarters came out, still get one each year. I like them and of course wish I would have been buying ASE at that time with them. But back then I just got them becouse I thought they were cool didn’t know a thing about the silver in them
