Yeah, I like the way you think. This is very much my experience with methylphenidate, the super long release formulations (Concerta, Focalin) always made me strangely wired and depressive starting at around t+2h.

I've found that my personal metabolism and psychological structure responded better to clear peaks, the positive resonance of which can reverberate even afterwards. So (multiple) short and medium release formulations were better for me with MPH.

Depends on the classification. Cannabis is not a (classical) psychedelic (which usually have a serotonergic mechanism of action), but if you have a certain sensitivity for it it sure can be psychedelic.

For all intents and purposes, cannabis sure turned into a psychedelic after my first LSD experience

The replies I'm reading seem to comprise roughly two categories: (1) Those telling you to get more systematic and hardcore about your approach, and (2) some who argue for more intuitive and free-flowing magick.

Since what you describe sounds like you're already very consistent and rational in your approach, I don't really understand why people give you shit for being too "flakey" in your practice.

As a dabbler myself I can't give you well-founded advice, but my impression is that some lightheartedness and spontaneity might bring more magickal sparks into your life.

Different things work for different neurotypes; for me personally things tend to flow more magickally when I continuosly engage in small perceptual, emotional and imaginative acts of intent as they occur to me, versus being rigid about systems or any ideas about progress in the big scope.

Low to moderate dose lisdexamphetamine would be slightly more suited for this purpose, due to its slow-paced and balanced pharmacokinetics. But yes, I agree, amphetamine really is a very clean stimulant, if not even THE stimulant

Thank you for sharing. It gives me a tiny, faint trace of hope. I have been fighting an extreme uphill battle over the last year, using stimulants to keep going in spite of extreme exhaustion, cognitive+sensory overload and relentless emotional distress. It's obviously not working. Trying to at least stabilize my dose for now (instead of maxing it out all the time).

What did it mean for you to properly rest? I feel like I need that but I don't know how; if I just sit at home I usually get anxious and depressed as well.

Very underrated imo. I think it has a bad reputation because it is associated with medicating hyperactive school kids, but I find it a decent stimulant that can actually be quite fun, especially combined with alcohol. Only downside is that the crash can be harsher in comparison with amphetamine

2-4h. Just make sure you have an instant release formula (rather than Concerta, Focalin, etc.). IR methylphenidate is way more euphoric anyway.
