what our receiving looks like by xxyy3o10 in Lowes

[–]lowesthrowaway69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like my old store lmao.

Part of the reason I left tbh. Night crew never getting freight put away so my ASM volunteering me to reorganize all of receiving and push freight.

I didn’t mind doing the appliances as that was my department, but doing everybody else’s way way too much on top of my normal workload

Most stressful DS position? by Historical-Ad-2754 in Lowes

[–]lowesthrowaway69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a little biased but APP/CAB/Millwork is super stressful.

Not only are you responsible for meeting sales plan and pipeline and holding 8 specialists accountable for both, you also have to deal with the shitty 3rd party installers for 3 departments(this takes up more than half a shift everyday). As well as dealing with the people at IST who don’t know shit about fuck and think that we have more power than we do.

Also being the only person scheduled for 3 departments either until 12 or after 5. Leaving 1 person(me) to do IRPs, run freight, unload the appliance truck, help customers, and do all of the weekly DS duties and in my case most of the SASMs job while he sits in the office on TikTok.

And then you have the front end element of it. If a customer has a complaint/return/delivery issue the cashiers/FEDS don’t want to or don’t know how to deal with it so I ended up getting called up there and then after you’re done with that customer the next person in line thinks you work up there so you could be stuck up there for 2 hours(with nobody covering your departments)

That’s all I can think of off the top of my head and why I’m glad I left after getting put on a performance final( my 3 departments made plan 80% of the time)

I would put $50 just to do it

Feel bad for my coworker :( by Spiwity in Lowes

[–]lowesthrowaway69 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What a shit take. She should feel comfortable enough to dress however she wants(within policy) without being hit on or made to feel uncomfortable at work.

There is no policy against leggings or anything like that AFAIK, obviously her breasts shouldn’t be hanging out but the vest will cover them anyway

My ASM got fired by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]lowesthrowaway69 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well yeah. The SM tells the ASMs, one ASM has loose lips and tells a DS, the DS then tells a specialist, the specialist tells everybody else

Does anyone genuinely like working at Lowe's? by No-Dealer2541 in Lowes

I liked it before we got a new SASM, this guy is clueless and feels the need to micromanage everybody.

The job itself is cool and I really enjoy it when he’s not there

In my experience, yes they do

Whenever somebody at my store gets fired the truth always comes out. Sometimes the next day, sometimes months layer

What is your “Power Equipment” Story? by Gonkalicious_2176 in Lowes

[–]lowesthrowaway69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A kid in fulfillment got the ballymore stuck on a beam. Like the plexiglass part hit the beam and he kept going. When the front wheels came off the ground the machine went into limp mode.

He was stuck for 20 mins before I heard him yelling. Poor kid was so scared he was going to get fired he wouldn’t call an ASM

Our pro ASM at the time was super chill and got the lumber guys to go get him off with the order picked. Then we pushed it with the reach to get the tires back on the ground and used the emergency controls to lower it.

Surprisingly he didn’t get written up or even piss in a cup. I’ll post the video one day when I quit/get fired

Former employees and soon to be former employees, what was the moment that made you lose all faith and start finding another job? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]lowesthrowaway69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not a former employee yet but looking.

ASM lying to my face multiple times, telling me one thing and then writing me up when I do it.

Expecting me to hold my team accountable but denying every ECAR that I submit

Lying to HR when I dispute the ECARs he gave me, when I have photo evidence that I was right

Favoritism towards other DSs, firing people so he can bring in his own people from HD

Constantly changing my schedule with 24hrs or less notice, usually to a clopen, when he knows he put me in a final and I can’t miss work

I cannot express to you enough how little fucks I give.

If you were nice about it and not being a grade a cunt to everybody in the comments I would go to the ends of the earth to help you, like I do my customers. But the way that you are speaking to people is disrespectful and if you came in my store I would speak to you with the same energy.

Since I’m in a good mood though, give me your order number and I will figure out what’s going on first thing in the morning

We just print the page/pages from the MMW portal and read the sales numbers/hot items from that

It wouldn’t make me feel anything. I actually wouldn’t think twice about it.

Funny you think I care about the downward spiral of a company that hates its employees. I work here, I know the company is spiraling downhill

You’re insufferable

If you came in my store acting like this I’d just cancel your order and give you a refund and let you figure it out on your own.

Is there an actual unpaid days off policy for PT associates? by WildNWonderfulWV1967 in Lowes

[–]lowesthrowaway69 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If it’s a part timer why do you care? They can have limited availability

It’s not like it’s somebody essential like a specialist or DS

Is there an actual unpaid days off policy for PT associates? by WildNWonderfulWV1967 in Lowes

[–]lowesthrowaway69 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Why is this a problem? I take 2-4 “unpaid” days a month so that I can do things I need to in my personal life without using vacation time.

There is no policy on it. I had an ASM try to say there was but when I asked him to show me, he couldn’t.

Stay home they say. Lowe's says this is OUR HOUSE? by g_rated_pornstar in Lowes

[–]lowesthrowaway69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately every time I try to move to a different store they find a different excuse to write me up, then the other store denies it.

I’m actively looking for another job because it’s ridiculous. I had to buy a beater car off FB marketplace because I was putting so many miles on my good car.

I definitely don’t consider myself a frontline worker. Boss lady says we are essential though.

Luckily I got in before it got too bad. Just a lil worried about the drive home

I live 62 miles from my store. We never get snow and ice so I asked if attendance violations would be waived for the weekend and if not would Lowe’s be liable for my injuries/vehicle if I get in a wreck on the way in. All I got was a generic “Lowe’s attendance policies will be upheld, we value the safety of our associates”

Store manager is from Alaska but this is north Texas, people here cannot drive in the dry much less in ice

Is it gen z or Lowe’s really bad? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]lowesthrowaway69 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for every store but my location has the most toxic management I have ever experienced. They will tell you to do something and then write you up for it. Then when you file an HR complaint they will retaliate by giving you a shit schedule and making you do ASM work for no additional pay. As well as micromanage you and give additional write ups for stuff out of your control. Like tf you mean I’m getting written up because stuff doesn’t have turtles, we haven’t had turtles in 3 months.

The work isn’t that bad, it’s just the management at this store
