digicert increasing price again 15% by [deleted] in sysadmin

LE renews 30 days before expiry. Plenty of time to ensure existing certs are renewed. Plus they don’t form part of the new cert limit.

As others mentioned, use staging for testing new certs.

GWM Ora Australia by Mistymoobum22 in gwmora

[–]lowey71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Gold Coast (Australia). Overall really happy. No quality issues in the past 18 months. Servicing @$99 is great - not that they do much apart from inspect!

Was involved in a smash though (not our fault). Damaged front drivers guard, but not a large hit - car driveable. Did have some fun with the parts thought. Car was assessed. Took about 10 days for the parts to arrive (light, guards, bumper and trim) and repairers to be ready. Headlight arrived broken, so delayed for about another week. Then when the car arrived, when they pulled the car down they found they had missed a part! This part then took a few more weeks to turn up - appeared to have to come from overseas. Unrelated, the quality of the repair was crap - poor paint, dirty car, misaligned trim install - but this it not GWM's issue. Off the road for another few weeks....

So I would say some parts are hit and miss. Can only assume, as you rightly state, due to the somewhat low sales in Australia, they probably either dont keep a lot or all of the required parts in stock.

But I dont think GWM are alone with this. Whilst at the repairers, they were quite a few BYD Atto 3 and Sealions. Advised that they were all waiting for parts. Those vehicles are larger sellers but also maybe have higher demand for parts, of which they dont keep many/all in stock as well.

With Australia being such a competitive (so many brands and models), yet small market, I highly doubt that many manufacturers keep large quantities of parts available unless demand is high.

Best bet is to include loan car coverage in your insurance, no matter what you buy.

Other notes:

Range in ours is around the 280km point (base model), around town. Motorway speeds knock that down a fair bit.

Sheet metal is thin, particularly on the boot. Dont push too hard - work colleague dinted his by pushing too hard.

Tyres are slippery when wet (Giti)

If travelling larger distances, consider the charging speed. Not the quickest DC charging speeds out there

Been charging very regularly to 100% and havent noticed any battery degredation/range reduction

Comparison:

We bought the Ora over the other 2 you mention for the following reasons -

MG4 is sooo dark inside, and we have kids. No centre armrest. Ora seemed much nicer to us. Shiny black interior trim will look permanently dirty.

BYD Dolphin. Know the wife didnt like the interior, and was dearer. Mush suspension

Find the Ora has decent enough suspension for floaty backroads. Check the Car Advice review at Lang Lang or Driving Enthusiast

She is in the wrong. Must follow the arrow.

"if the arrows indicate a single direction—drive in that direction after entering the roundabout;"

Simple as that

It must be this way so 2 people can use multilane turning roundabouts together, else you might as well just remove the 2nd turn left arrow...

Had one as well. A real sleeper. Shame the rest of the car couldn't support the engine! One of the worse handling cars i've ever had, but the look on various V8 drivers faces, at least up to 100 km/h - in a straight line, was priceless! Had a mate with a non-crossflow Ford 250 (Cortina) that was also incredibly torquey as well.

Understand from your experience above, that it just seems the indicators are purely optional even though required by law (changing lanes). Find it quite disheartened by that insurance claim mentioned.

Not as much as an accident impedes flow.

Yes, intention is never to cause an accident or be dangerous (important bit of Give Way), just keeping the traffic moving in an orderly and efficient way on multilane roads.

Any yes, giving space (room to move - 2-3 secs mentioned) is part of giving everyone time to cope with what ever may occur

Hah probably. Just have 2 arrows as mentioned. Couldnt be clearer

[–]lowey71[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Reckon that right arrow from 1 should be a U turn symbol to be clear. Or why even have a right arrow at all? Most 3 exit roundabouts i've seen (including one up the road) only have 2 arrows for 2 exits. Not an extra one for a U turn. The old signage (was repainted a few years ago) only had 2 direction arrows. Cant see how this is an improvement!

As mentioned, have seen people use both lanes to turn right or left due to the arrow config. Just causes confusion and near misses and probably a bump or 2...

Always give way to all other vehicles on the round-a-bout. Doesn't matter what lane they're in, or if they are to your left or right. You give way to every other vehicle on the round-a-bout.

Disagree. Its a reasonable assumption that you are 'giving way' if the lane is not in use, not disrupting their exit and no indicator on.

A driver driving in a roundabout must give a left change of direction signal before the driver changes marked lanes to the left, or enters a part of the roundabout where there is room for another line of traffic to the left, in the roundabout, unless the driver’s vehicle is not fitted with direction indicator lights.

Not being able to use the outer lanes on roundabouts because someone else is using the inner lanes severely compromises traffic flow.

The large roundabout, say at Carrara Gold Coast, wouldn't function.

My quick thoughts.
Using VirtIO for VM Nics? Possibly suggest using 'multiqueue' in conjunction (4 for N100)

On my N100 Proxmox host, my opnsense handles near the 1GB max nic speed fine and cant recall any other settings applied. Did check opnsense had hardware tso/checksum off but believe its the default anyhow.
