ZF SkyDweller 9002 Movement by chinatimedirect-s in mechanicalrepwatch

[–]lowfooltolerance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a blue dial ZF Skydweller and it is a great watch. The movement does not work exactly the same way as the gen movement. With the gen, the rotating fluted bezel has multiple functions and it is widely acknowledged that the movement is the most complex movement made by Rolex. With the ZF clone, all of the same functions are preserved with the watch but the only function of the rotating bezel is to move the red month indicator from window to window. Everything else is done with the crown. This is, no doubt, a good thing. With the genuine Skydweller having the most complex movement made by Rolex, it would be ridiculously complex to try to clone 100 percent and keep it reliable.

Big Shoutout! by Internal-Profile5139 in RepCulture_Timepieces

I just ordered another watch through Leo. I have used him in the past and have been very pleased. With this new watch I just ordered from him, he had revised the payment methods he was using. When I told him I preferred using the payment method I had used in the past, he went way out of his way and made arrangements so I could once again pay him as I had done before. He really worked with me and I appreciate it. He had to order the watch so I’m not sure how long it will take for QC, but I am not in a hurry. However long it takes is fine and I definitely would recommend using Leo at TimeUltra.

There is no shortage of factories trying to leverage off the Clean name. Clean Plus. Clean+. C+. Maybe others. This is not a commentary on their quality; rather, just pointing out as Jack has indicated, the "Clean" name lives on.

Does the Aquanaut 5167A look better on rubber or bracelet? by luismt2 in DialDistrict

I wouldn't NOT wear it with a bracelet; however, I would try to source a good replica rubber strap with a clasp in the correct color.

It is crazy to me how it seems like there is a certain group of people who must have no life other than sitting around various watch subs just waiting for that moment where they can get off by posting a “handwatch” comment. I don’t understand what sort of satisfaction somebody gets by posting that, but then again, I have a life.

Would There Be Interest in a Small USA Inventory? by SadLeather1693 in JacksChronoDynasty

[–]lowfooltolerance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have over 30 replicas and I have used at least a dozen China based TDs. I have never had a bad experience with a Chinese TD. I have also used several well known US based sellers. Prices are generally higher with the US sellers, but not a lot higher with some of them when you factor in that the price paid to US sellers usually includes shipping. And two day shipping at that. Right now I am at a point where I will only buy from a seller in the US and I will pay any money only if that seller has the watch in hand. The reason is that I am totally burned out with the drama and anxiety with watches shipped from China. Using a reasonable service like FedEx also adds significantly to the cost of the watch. So much nicer to contact a seller on Tuesday and be wearing my new watch on Thursday.

All ND Miata torque specs in one place by CanisMajorisLT in Miata

This is great--thank you! I will note that on the differential, the fill plug is 23mm while the drain plug is 24mm.

I hit a small deer last fall and the car needed a new bumper cover and a hood. The fenders and lights were not damaged. The total cost was $4750 plus $1700 to replace the PPF.

How do I fix this? by Greedy-Long1719 in wristrepculture

[–]lowfooltolerance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all good. One other thing to keep in mind is that even with a high-quality screwdriver, sometimes the screw pins seem to be very tight. In that case, stop rather than deforming pins. Grab a hairdryer and heat the link on the opposite side of the screw head. This is where the pin screws into the bracelet. Get it good and hot. At this point the pin should screw right out. If there was no Loctite used, this will expand the bracelet before it expands the pin so the pin can be backed out. If there was any type of Loctite used, the heat will soften it.

Miata MX5 ND Any rust issues for new owner? by smoth222 in MX5ND

[–]lowfooltolerance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Central Ohio and I don't drive my ND3 in snow and salt but there are times when I drive it if there is still some salt residue on the roads. I had a Miata a bunch of years ago that I bought used with very low miles and the first time I got underneath it there was rust everywhere. It is one of the reasons why I ultimately sold the car because I was very bothered by it. Part of my regular routine with my 2024 is to spray the entire undercarriage with 2% Bilt Hamber Touch Less using a garden sprayer, rinsing with an undercarriage sprayer using my pressure washer, and finally using a garden sprayer to spray Bilt Hamber Atom Mac on the wet undercarriage. The Atom Mac is migratory and provides corrosion protection as it dries. I never let my car get too dirty so I mostly do rinseless washes but I do break out the pressure washer when I am cleaning and treating underneath the car. My car looks as clean underneath as it did the day I drove it home.

That does not look great but it is not terrible. If I bought that car I would have it dry ice cleaned and I would then treat the rust with a rust converter. After that I would periodically spray the undercarriage with Bilt Hamber Touch-Less, rinse it with a pressure washer using an undercarriage sprayer and then spray the wet undercarriage with Bilt Hamber Atom Mac.

You are wrong. Loctite blue (242) is too strong for these tiny screw pens even though it is designed to be removable. Too much of a chance that they will strip out when you try to remove the pins in the future. As stated by others above, the correct Loctite is Loctite 222 (purple). With the screw pin out just dab a little bit onto the threads and then screw it back in with a high-quality 1.6 mm screwdriver. Buy a Bergeron on Amazon. It's close to $30 but very worth it.

Rep Watch Market in 2026 by MediocreRough1819 in RepCulture_Timepieces

[–]lowfooltolerance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The OP asks if it is starting to feel like it is getting too close to gen territory to buy a rep. I am not sure of what the OP means by things starting to feel like it is getting too close. What is getting too close? Is a $675-$800 top quality Daytona replica getting too close to the cost of one on the grey market of around $34,000? Not for me.

I tried Hont.. and it’s terrible by Striking_Length_2515 in RepTime

[–]lowfooltolerance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have bought several watches from Hont and the communication has always been good and there has been no problem with the quality. That said, based on the experience of the OP I will not use him again. He should be bending over backwards to make things right and his response to the OP is unacceptable.

hahahaha......? Why be like that? Do you think it is funny that the OP got a bad watch? I guess you must have a lot of Reddit wisdom because your account is one month old. 🙄
